I have been using this type of M&S cotton underpants for many years. Whilst they are rather old fashioned I fine them very comfortable and the quality of the material is such that they are still soft and comfortable after many washes.

Quality of this is really surprisingly low. After washing for the first time, the whole shape is distorted, and the quality of the fabric is poor too! Saying that is is for fresh and cool feeling, but the fabric is of some cheap cotton ( or mixed???) quality and definitely not cool for this hot wave. No value fir the money, £20 for just 3 poor quality shorts!
