Thin cotton socks which feel like they should have been prewashed as seem wrong size shape after washing

I love these thin summer socks, although I wear them year round over compression stockings as well. They are very soft, give good toe space and feel delightful on my easily allergic skin. However the elastic can have a tendency to be too tight for the larger size of sock.

Little tight around the neck of the sock. Socks a little on the large side. Material nice and soft.

My husband finds them cool and comfortable. Bought in beige for summer wear.

These thin socks were just what I wanted for wearing indoors with wool lined slippers. Unfortunately after the first wash the elasticated tops started coming loose including strands of material which I had to snip off. I'm still wearing them but as 'luxury' socks I wouldn't wear them out of the house because of the tatty appearance of the tops. I'm disappointed since over the years I've relied on M&S for the essentials knowing they would be good quality. Not this time.
