why do so many socks have metallic fibre in?

Returned these as I can't wear anything with metallic fibre in. Why do so many of your colourful socks contain metallic fibre? I wanted something with a pattern, not plain boring black, but all the styles i ordered had metallic fibre in so had to return them.

These socks are cosy and warm without being bulky. I love the charcoal grey colour rather than pale grey marl and the design is very pretty and not too garish. Please can we have navy as navy socks are usually either boring or too colourful.
