I couldn’t believe it, it has buttons however they slid close, I thought I wouldn’t like it but turns out my son loves it makes the morning easy and I have washed it a few times now and it’s still in good condition. Can’t complain

ASD/Hypermobile child
Yes, I recommend this
These have enabled my son with ASD Independence! At 8, I was still having to dress him, which wasn’t beneficial for either of us! He is no longer the last to get changed for PE, trying to process the order of dressing as well as the difficulty of buttons. He is independent. He can cope with how the shirt feels, the label is not irritating, he can where the collar loose. Yes you have to do the Velcro up before you wash it, but you would with anything Velcro. These wash brilliantly, my son loves mud....! For a child with ASD the littlest of things can make the world of difference! Well done M&S! :-)

Good idea but needs some changed
No, I don't recommend this
Bought these for my son and when he first tried them on we were quite pleased with them. However, as he has worn them we have had some issues with them. The velcro strip doesn't adhere well, especially at the top which makes it quite obvious that the buttons are false. Unless the both sides of the velcro are perfectly aligned the front of the shirt looks rumpled and untidy. This is not easy to do and as these shirts are aimed at children who have difficulty with fine motor skills it almost defeats the purpose of them. There is no top buttonhole for a clip on tie to go through so the clip had to go over the top of the shirt. Added to this the neck size is quite small which makes it quite uncomfortable. The shirts assume that one style fits all. There are no plus size or slim fit options. The idea behind these shirts is great but the design needs fine tuning.

A life saver
Yes, I recommend this
My son is on the spectrum and has hypermobile finger joints so can’t do up buttons. These shirts are therefore an absolute life saver and none of his friends realise that his shirts are any different from theirs, so he doesn’t get teased. However, I bought two shirts in July and since then they are always out of stock. As another reviewer asked, is there any way of pre-ordering these? My son’s are permanently in the wash so I’d be very grateful of the opportunity to buy more! My only tip with these shirts is to make sure that you fasten the shirt with the Velcro before washing and tumble drying. Otherwise everything sticks to the Velcro - and once you’ve pulled off your then ruined tights etc the Velcro becomes a lot less effective.

School shirt problem solved
Yes, I recommend this
Was so pleased to find these shirts to help my son be independent with dressing. However, they are never in stock and I would like to purchase more (I am currently rotating 2 shirts!). Have they been discontinued or is there a way to find out when stock becomes available?

The velcro strip is a nightmare - be warned!
No, I don't recommend this
The velcro strip on this product means that unless the strip is perfectly aligned the shirt looks awful. My son will not spend the time making sure the velcro is aligned. The velcro will collect fluff from the winter jumpers and then will not do up properly. The velcro will stick to anything else in the washing even if you have done it up because it comes undone in the wash. The hidden care label has a space for the name on the end, but is impossible to put back in position so unless you want a flappy label hanging out of the collar you might as well cut it out and put your own label elsewhere. This product has not been designed from a parent's perspective nor from a child's. However, the fit is good! I wonder if M&S will review this design please?

Easy dressing shirts
Yes, I recommend this
This is an amazing product which suits my son who has autism and struggles with buttons. This is the second year I have bought these shirts and they last the whole school year. Only issue is there is no 'slim fit' option which is available in other shirt and polo shirts. Plus I had to order online as not available in store. Apart from that would definitely recommend and buy again.

Only suitable for 3-6yr olds
No, I don't recommend this
These shirts have a velcro strip beneath the buttons, which although suitable for little kids, is not appropriate for senior school. The information stated the velcro was only beneath the first 4 buttons but is in fact all the way down to the bottom. It also stated easy cuffs with elasticated button fastening(the reason I bought them) but this was absent from the ones I purchased. My grandson is slim but these came up small on him so wouldn't be suitable for the average child.

Excellent for slow dressers!
Yes, I recommend this
I bought these shirts for both of my children. They love how easy and quick they are to get on and off. They have a Velcro strip behind the fake buttons so that it just sticks together on closure. My only issue is that the neck size comes up small - the actual length and fit is fine otherwise. My boys struggle to get their ties on as the shirt is snug around the neck. They wear these on PE days to make it quicker to get dressed afterwards.

Great quality materials and my 4 year old son is confident to dress himself when he starts school on September in these shirts so perfect for young children.

Velcro fastening shirt
No, I don't recommend this
I ordered these shirts by mistake and wanted to stop others making the same mistake. The ‘easy dressing’ means that there is a strip of velcro to fasten the shirt, with fake buttons on the outside. My child is starting high school this year and is able bodied, so these weren’t the best option for him! I was able to swap them with no difficulty though.
