XA Pro 3D V9 Trail Running Trainers

This shoe has really good ankle stabilization and secures to the foot very comfortably which makes it a great trail shoe. The sole, is very stiff and doesn't offer much bounce, so it doesn't transition well into a gravel/street running shoe. So if you're looking to run strictly on trails, it's great. But if you're running on hybrid paths or want to run around your neighborhood, go with a more versatile option.

I’ve had these shoes for a few weeks and I have definitely put quite a few miles on them. That being said, I am seeing significant treadwear in the rear heel and I do not believe that these will last more than maybe another month or so. They are an extremely comfortable and supportive shoe, but a mixture of different types of surfaces seems to be accelerating the way. They would probably be fine on just dirt.

These shoes are always immediately comfortable for me. I experience no break in period. In addition they are sturdy enough to hike in while being relatively light weight.

I needed to replace another pair of summer shoes I ordered from here that were wearing out in the heel. I have worn Salomon shoes exclusively for ten years or so. I should have known what to expect. The last few years have given me decent looking shoes at much less quality and strength than the past. I prefer traditional laces, but I have a pair of Salomon’s that use the new style and they weren’t too bad…. But the lacing pattern on these digs into the top of my foot behind my big toe. Not a fan. Additionally, the balls of my feet ache after wearing them for longer than an hour. I have never experienced this with Salomon and it makes me wonder if they changed the profile of the insole or if it has to do with the materials. Either way, these shoes are a complete 180 from all of my previous pairs. The decline of Salomon is a shame. I would prefer to pay more and get the quality I enjoyed from 10 years ago, not this fashionable junk that costs less and performs like it.

I've been wearing Salomon shoes for years. This years versions weren't as good as previous years. Seems like they trying to limit materials on the final product which makes the shoes tighter than they once were.
