The shorts feel heavy and rigid compared with my prior Brooks shorts. I miss the side pockets and zipper back as I had with my Brooks shorts and their feeling of being smoother and more comfortable to run in. I do appreciate the NB lower price but in retrospect I wish I would of paid the extra money for the Brooks.

They definitely aren’t as nice as the accelerate shorts. I loved the ones they don’t make anymore and had around six pairs. These ones seem to have cheaper fabric and the fit is boxier. I bought two pairs on sale, but they’ll probably stay out of my rotation until laundry day. Overall, I’ll buy something else next time.

I’ve been ordering these shorts previously for years. As other reviews mention, they changed the quality of these and they’re terrible. The fabric is so thin and do not last after 3 washes. Extremely disappointed.

I got four pairs of new balance shorts similar to these in 2011 and wore them for virtually every run since then... probably about 10,000 miles. They all finally wore out (elastic in waistband, ripped seams, etc.). So I bought four pairs of these, and they seem to be almost exactly the same. Waistband seems a little more robust and the drawstring is on the outside. I'm looking forward to another 13 years with these! I have a 32" waste, medium is spot on.

My favorite shorts for running and CrossFit were the New Balance Accelerate 5" Shorts. Unfortunately, those are no longer made so I tried these. These are decent, but I ended up going with a competitor's short that fit better and had better feeling material. I did 4 different brands, and ultimately ended up returning these.
