Pure Cotton Striped Matelassé Bedding Set

This is very similar to my last M&S duvet cover which I have had for many years. I like the thickness and heaviness of the cover and this one is also nice and soft. The benefits of the thickness are that it makes a nice summer layer without the duvet inside and also you can’t see the duvet through the cover. It washes well and doesn’t shrink too much. Or this one hasn’t yet anyway. It does come up too big and I think it may have shrunk slightly on first wash and dry. The downside of this cover and the reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is that it takes a long time to dry in the dryer. My last one took about one and half hours and this one took at least 2 and half! I haven’t dried outside yet.

I fell in love with the look of this duvet cover and ordered it online. I really wish I’d read the other reviews first and I wish I’d returned it. I thought as it was 100% cotton it would be light, like waffle bedding, but it is the heaviest thing I’ve ever come across. I don’t think I’ll be able to use this in my Airbnb as I planned because people will find it too hot. It’s very difficult to fold too so I’m disappointed with it and wished I’d waited until summer to buy a lighter one. This is too heavy even for winter though, fabric can be warm without being this heavy. Unless you like bedding that weighs a ton I wouldn’t recommend buying this one.

The duvet cover is unbelievably and unmanageably heavy, really wish we had returned it for refund before trying to wash it prior to use

The duvet looks lovely but it arrived with some threads pulled. It's also quite heavy.

Fantastic bedding set, good quality, no ironing required, the top is heavy so offers additional warmth. My only negative is that it takes more than 2 hours to dry in the tumble dryer.
