Petite Spotted Ruched Tea Dress

This is the first dress I have purchased in many years due to the fact it is difficult to buy something that fits nicely when my top half far exceeds my bottom half but this dress compensates for that fact with the cut of the skirt and the generous, albeit, discreet cut of the bust area.. Contrary to earlier reviews of this item some of which aren't particularly favourable, I truly believe that the powers that be have taken note, as the dress I purchased was made of a lovely fabric that flows and is crease resistant. I loved it so much I immediately purchased a second dress exactly the same as a spare - totally love this purchase and would recommend to everyone - please can this dress be replicated in different fabrics - a plain heavy crepe would be fabulous.

The idea of this dress is lovely. I agree with other reviewers though that the fabric isn't great. I stood in it for a little while trying to work out what I didn't like about it. In the end I think it is the cut. The detail at the neckline is pretty but really poorly stitched. I often have problems with the bust area on dresses stretching. On this one I didn't and was trying an 8, which still felt quite large. But the keyhole detail was not at all straight. Also, the zip seems to go a long way down the skirt, which stops it hanging nicely. The idea of this dress is great, the sleeves and neckline are lovely, the waist shaped. But it wasn't worth £40 given the problems with the finish so I've returned.

Poor quality and badly made although the style is lovely. I could have worn it wih the neck open as it was too tight above the bust but then noticed this was a fault of the gathers being badly sewn.

Bought for my mother, who tried it on and would have fallen in love with it had it not been for the extremely short length. The picture depicted a good length, below the knee, but it was in fact way above the knee and she is five foot. Such a shame, she would have loved this dress. Can we have more petite for the older lady please, not just the young.

I was very disappointed with this dress - the material is like something you would buy on a market. It was very small I got my usual size10 but it was far too small. The only positive thing I can say is the style was very nice. Sorry the worst item I have tried from Marks in the last few years - definitely not your usual quality.

Ordered on line but didn't like the pattern when it arrived. Nice fit and style though. Material felt quite not very good quality

I am so happy with this dress! I usually find it difficult to get a dress to fit my bust as I am a 36E but this dress (16) is fitted under the bust, flatters tummy and hips, is light and stylish and pretty!! It does sit above the knee and I am 5'3". Well done M&S keep these coming please!

This is a very comfortable-to-wear, feminine little dress. I found it true to size. Suitable for any occasion! Don't take any notice of the photo of the navy dress that appears to be below the knee on the model. I am 5' 3" and this dress is just above my knee. Not sure why this seems to be almost out of stock. Please M&S, can we have more stock and more nice summer dresses in Petite, please?

Sadly this was not petite enough for me. I am 5 ft tall and it was far too long in the body and, hence, fitted very poorly. I note, now looking at the detailed product information again, that the model shown is 5ft 5 inches tall. Many petite ranges are designed for shorter women. A shame because it is good value. Would only recommend it to a taller friend!

Please, please, please M & S make this in regular sizes as I am 5'-8" tall and this would be too short for me. Many thanks from a usually very satisfied customer
