We bought a brand new bed frame and mattress from Marks and Spencer for my mum on 22/08/2022, and it was delivered and fitted on 10/10/2022. It was a firm, orthopaedic mattress as my mum suffered with back pain. My mum was only over 50kg in weight, and she slept alone. After only 7 months we noticed the mattress had caved in the middle and dipped where her head and shoulder would have been, so it was causing her more back aches. I made a complaint to Marks and Spencer on 12/05/2023, who sent a contractor technician to inspect on 25/05/2023. He clearly saw, measured and took photos of the dip in the bed and yet went away and reported "no manufacturing fault", so Marks and Spencer refused to exchange the mattress. It was supposed to be a FIRM, orthopaedic mattress with a 10 year warranty and yet it dipped just over 7 months use by a single person who was barely over 50 kg in weight. It is clearly unacceptable that Marks and Spencer refused to resolve this problem. Any decent mattress, even if it was a soft mattress, should not have been dipped like that after 7 months of use. It was ironic as we thought we treated mum to a quality product (if it came from M&S) but clearly the standards are not the same as the M&S we had known. All cheap products now and they won't even provide proper warranty for their products now.

amoola Fantastic mattress The mattress is of excellent quality - everything you expect from an orthopaedic mattress ie FIRM. I cannot understand some of the poor ratings, maybe those reviewers don’t know what to expect from this type of mattress? ISome have said the quality is poor and I find that completely untrue. This is a good quality item. I need an orthopaedic mattress for my back, I can’t lie for long on a memory foam mattress because they don’t give enough support. I have had orthopaedic mattresses for years and used in conjunction with a good quality topper I get both support and comfort. The mattress has a good depth, I need extra depth fitted sheets with mine because I have a topper too however, if you don’t have a topper your standard fitted sheets will do. Delivery was very good, friendly guys who put the mattress where I needed it and M snd S kept me up to date regularly whilst my item was going through the order stage. Overall I am delighted with my purchase and would recommend to anyone who needs an orthopaedic mattress.
