Love these. This is my second pair. The first pair I originally wore for work as a lab and field biologist in agriculture. I also wore them for hiking and being outside with my children. Now my new pair are for our summer outside adventures with my kids. My husband wears them too. Also in his second pair probably needs a third.

Comfortable but rubbed the top of my foot

I bought these for hiking Utah‘s mighty five national parks. They are comfortable and didn’t require breaking them in. They did leave an irritation mark on the top of my right foot only. I could not feel anything on the shoe that could have caused it. I am disappointed and will need to look for a new pair.

Comfortable and Durable…These fit true to size and have been on my feet hiking each morning with the dogs. Rain, mud and rocks abound, these shoes are indestructible. I will never go to another brand for hiking boots.

I’m not an avid hiker but wanted to hike while in Washington state and these SAVED MY LIFE. I usually wear barefoot shoes so I was a little hesitant but they are so comfortable and so worth it!

Best Christmas present!

I received these boots as a Christmas present. I didn't want to submit a review till I'd worn them for a while. I love these boots, they're very comfortable and they look great. The insole is supportive, the arch supportive is good, not too high. I especially like the wide toe box, as my feet are wide at the front. Plus I especially like the sedona sage colourway. The only feature I haven't fully tested is the Gore-tex and waterproofing, though I've found them fine in light showers.

Lace them up and go!

Fit perfectly. I tried the regular fit first and it was too narrow. So returned those and got these. I didn’t even need to spend time to break them in. Lace them up and go!

Sizing is weird.
Originally posted on Merrell
Sizing is weird for these. Bought these in my usual size and the toes were too far forward and the sole jabbed in the wrong place! Returned for a half size smaller and the toes were way too short! Would never be able to hike extended distances in these. Bummed.

Moab Gore-Tex
Originally posted on Merrell
No, I don't recommend this
Merrell Moabs are my go to hiking shoe, once one pair wears out, I automatically but the same pair, perhaps in a different color. This is my first time buying the Gore-Tex version. Wound up returning them because the olive color was much darker than represented on the website, and the lining (I guess the gore-tex) made a noise when you walked - a bit annoying. Otherwise the fit and high quality was what you would expect from Merrell

Good boot but limited colors

Great boot, just a bit disappointed by the color selection. I'm a guy and would much prefer the more neutral men's colors (no pink, purple, or icey/baby blue, just a simple gray, black, brown, or green), but my shoe size is too small for the men's shoes available. I've had this issue with a majority of the Merrell's collection, which is a shame because they make some really great boots.

Bought these as a Christmas gift to my son's girlfriend as they had plans to hike the Cumberland Gap. They reported that their hiking boots worked great and did not even require a "breaking in" period.

I like the boot, it is my 4rth set and I get about 750 miles of rough hiking out of each set.

I love these boots. They keep my feet warm and dry. I have used them in the Alps this winter and they stand up to the conditions.

I take my Merrell pretty much everywhere! Among many hikes they went to Death Valley, Yosemite and in the wilderness of Patagonia in the snow sleet, crossing creeks and marshes. I would not leave home without them!

The shoes are unwearable. The inner arch support if far too high compared to other Merrel boots I have bought in the past. I will return them.

Very comfortable but would like more underfoot cushioning. Need to change inner sole to be ideal.

These have been my go to hiking shoes for decades. I hike 3+ times per week and they never let me down. I have twice tried more expensive boots thinking I might be missing something only to go back to the Merrell Moab boots. I've recommended them to many people and they are never disappointed.

Great fit. Nice grooves grab leaves or any debris. Didn’t get a chance to break them in before hike and they still were comfortable the entire way. Highly recommend.

Great Boot --close to perfect, but one issue
Originally posted on Merrell
My go to hiking boots for the last 10 years! They are great in so many ways, but when you push in the tongue to lace them, the tongue rubs on the front of your foot every step you take. I tried moving it around to find a good fit, but I never could.. my solution was to just not tie as tight, but then I had a little less ankle support. Just finished hiking in Peru and they were waterproof as we went though many puddles, low river crossings, and rain.
