Tradeoff of Cushion for Speed
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Adds a great spring to your step to increase pacing. Not as cushioned as I'd like. My feet went numb in my first few runs breaking them in which was pretty uncomfortable. I also live in a colder area so the mesh on top exposes your feet and lets air move, which is nice on warm days and miserable on chilly days. I'm worried about the longevity due to the lack of cushion, but so far they're pretty good!

I wish I could justify buying another pair for work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hands down (and toes down) my new favorite shoes. I’ve shaved almost two minutes off my average mile time (at baseline I’m a slow below average runner but still). I have mild plantaflexor spasticity and I think these plated shoes have helped to decrease my energy expenditure per step so I’m able to go further and faster. I had seen reviews that I might need to modify my socks to accommodate for the narrower fit while I stretched the shoes out, but I’ve worn my typical bombas/feetures/hanes crew socks without issue. Even my old ghosts had at least a two week break in period due to the increased shearing I experience on the ball of my left foot, but I’ve gone on several runs in my hyperions with no foot pain/blisters/numbness/tingling. If anything, I feel a very slight increase in medio lateral instability when going over thresholds/uneven surfaces potentially due to to plate and foam placement but it’s negligible. I like the padding placement and the stretchy heel loop for ease of application. Interested to see how the sole holds up over time especially on the L medial forefoot where my pressure is largely focused. Can’t wait to put some miles on them!

Happy fast feet over long runs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Long fast road runs- these are it! So impressed that I ran severally long hilly courses in these and not only were my times some of my best but my feet and body had nearly no wear or tear. Absolutely worth the money if you have long runs planned frequently through the year

Great pep and cushion

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lightweight and peppy. Toe box is a little more narrow than last version. Please, I beg of you, give us more colors! I will buy multiple pairs of these to train for multiple marathons and these colors are not great. I want to love the look, but the colors are seriously lacking. People that run outside year round love colorful shoes that hide the dirt. Help me out Brooks....

Colorful and fun to run in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So being truthful these to a second to get used to. The integrated tongue makes for a tighter feel around my ankle which felt awkward at first. But after running over 40 miles in them so far I'm in love. The design is cool and the chunkier sole leaves my calves and my feet feeling great after my long runs. It's like having super great support the whole run.

I got these in November to train for my upcoming half marathon. On the first run I wasn’t sure I really liked them, on the second run, I fell in love. For me, they are super comfortable, responsive and cushioned. I love the bounce in my step. I haven’t experienced any foot/ shin/ knee pain since I started wearing these. 10/10 recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shoe, no foot pain, stable. I feel they run a bit smaller than the 2’s, I’m an 8.5 and in these I feel I should have bought a 9. I love Brooks and will always be a fan!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After years of trying many training shoes with my uneven gait, I finally found a shoe that I have not gotten injured in. Super cushioned and stable for the foot! The shoe is great for long distance runs…bouncy, speedy, yet stable!

Overall good but not for high arches
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I like this shoe. I have high arches and for some reason the cut of this shoe puts a lot of pressure on the top of my foot causing pain even after changing my lacing pattern. It is otherwise comfortable and great for my speed work.

Ankle too tight
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
I am a long time runner and worn brooks for a long time, I loved the Hyperion max 2 and bought these when they came out. I have high arches and bony ankles the colllar is too tight and not forgiving. I have tried multiple things to help. Looser laces, tighter laces, end even cut a small slit to open it up but every time I wear them I get a bloody ankle. I wish they would open that up a little cuz I loved these shoes

Best Daily Trainer of 2026
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On my third pair, by far the best shoes of 2025. I hadn’t been a brooks guy the last 5 years with the endorphin line and supercomps taking over. This shoe changed that. Cannot recommend enough for a comfy, quick, daily trainer (that looks great in all white too)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extremely disappointed in the fit of the new Hyperion Max 3. I had really bad plantar pain within the first 5 minutes of running with them. I pushed through and ran 3 miles the first day and 5 the next, but had to stop multiple times due to the discomfort and pain. Besides the plantar pain, the shoe feels unsteady and my right foot rolled a few times - feels like the increase in foam and thickness makes the shoe feel very unsteady. I am a 7.5 and always order a half size up on running shoes, but the increase size didn’t make any difference in the feel. I was excited to try them since I ran two half marathons and a full marathon with the Hyperion Max 2 and LOVED those shoes. This new version is definitely not a good fit for me. I will be returning them.

Hyperion Max 3

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these two weeks before my first marathon as my previous pair of Brooks Hyperion Max 2 were no longer available. These shoes did not disappoint. They were break in ready on my first mid distance and long run. By race day I felt fully dailed in with the Hyperion Max 3. They offer great spring and have neutral support. I usually size up to allow for better foot spread. The current pair have 150 miles on them and no sign of wear. I love these shoes!
