Overly Cushy Shoe

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I have had Brooks Ghost models for several years. I could do anything with them including Pickelball. They were stable and maneuverable. Granted, I have a bunion and a hammertoe issue, so few shoes are really comfortable, but the Glycerin has way too much rubber for me and seems more like a Hoka. Although that might be a plus for some, the shoe does not let you feel the ground and lateral moves are a bit more clunky.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After doing all the research I landed on this brand and decided to try these out, since I’ve been wearing some old new balances for walks/runs and those didn’t provide a whole lot of support I figured it was time to upgrade. I tried them on at home, the fit was nice and cushiony. I’m between 61/2-7 so I ended on a size 7. Not sure if I’m supposed to break these but I went on a 2 mile (pretty flat terrain) and my feet were uncomfortable, my calf’s were hurting. Just pain in different places & I ended up with a blister on the heel of my right foot. Has never happened with any other shoe. Will be giving them another shot but already not impressed for the high prices.

So squishy and great for walking with baby

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE THEM!!! I haven’t tried them for running yet. But for walking they are amazing! I walk with my 4 month old baby who is about 17 lbs about 5 miles a day. They are so comfy, easy to put on, and fit great. I love the bounce. My foot feels stable. They look nice too!! I would definitely recommend 🤌

Top of toe box hurts

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

Usually I love my Brooks Glycerin, but the top is the toe box is too stiff and hurts my toes. Everything else on the shoe is perfect, but this wrecks it.

Sad Shopper

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Ghosts and Glycerins for 20 years and I consider myself loyal to the brand. Brooks shoes used to be such a reliable fit. Over the last few years though the sizing, the toe box and the material around the ankle has changed consistently year over year and in a negative way. Unfortunately, the extra fabric around the opening of the shoe on the Glycerin 23 comes up higher than past models, isn't soft and rubs the side of my outside ankle where the bone protrudes. I'm super sad that these don't fit right and I'll be returning them.

ER nurse

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these shoes! Plenty of room for my toes to spread out and great cushion with each step. I am an ER nurse and even after wearing these shoes for 12 hours and walking several miles, my feet feel great!

Not my favorite Brooks

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

Not my favorite. I am a nurse and have bought at least two pairs of brooks a year for about 15 years. These are my least favorite pair yet. I have gone between ghost and glycerine. Never before have I needed to break in a pair of brooks until now, I’m a month in and not liking them at all! Very disappointing. My feet and legs are sore at the end of the day in multiple places. The heel padding is awkward and there’s just something about them. I am going to try a pair of ghosts and then hoping I don’t need to find a new brand.

Brooks- Not the same

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a nurse and I usually buy about two pairs of brooks a year, ghost or glycerine. I do not like this shoe at all. At first I thought it was nice and bouncy but the shoe is uncomfortable in multiple areas. The heel padding is awkward and my legs are sore at the end of the day in these. My feet feel better in my old pair than these and I’ve been breaking them in for about a month. This is the first pair of brooks I’ve ever felt I needed to break in! Super disappointing. I am probably going to order some ghosts and hope they’re better and that I don’t need to switch to a new brand.

Great shoe!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our local running club did a demo day with the Glycerin 23. I loved these shoes so much I ordered them straight away! The upper is a showstopper - great color way in pink/black/white, plush, super comfortable. I have a narrow midfoot and wider forefoot and really appreciate the fit of the Glycerin 23. I feel like this shoe would work well for a lot of different foot shapes. What really sold me was the responsive cushioning. I don’t feel like I’m sinking into the shoe. It’s very stable with good ground feel. I’m running faster and more efficiently in the Glycerin 23! I like the fit, cushioning and feel quite a bit more than the Ghost and feel the extra money is definitely worth it. This shoe is what I was hoping the Cascadia 19 would feel like. The only question is what color do I buy next?

Disappointed

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I am a RN and have been a loyal Brooks customer. I’ve had a couple foot surgeries and they have been a godsend. I purchased Ghosts for several years and switched to Glycerin GTS a couple of years ago. This year’s version feels like there isn’t as much cushion. Also, the shoe base looks wider and it makes my feet look huge in comparison to the last ones I bought. I wear a 9.5 and have to get wide ones due to results of surgery on my one foot. The color options in wide are always dismal. I purchased the “spellbound/ Yucca / Pink ones this time and they just look manly…I don’t see pink in them and they are “yucca” . I’m going to have to return them, but am at a loss as to what to exchange them for. I may have to look into another brand, sadly.

Best Glycerin Yet

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Glycerins for almost ten years now and have loved every model except the 22s, which were a total miss for me - too narrow and hurt my feet even to walk in. I was worried that these would be the same, but they are easily the most comfortable version of Glycerins yet, and the best looking in my opinion. I'd recommend going a half size up.

Extremely comfortable and durable

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Glycerin 23! They are extremely comfortable and true to size. I ordered the Medium (1B) width, and the front half of the shoe is wider than expected. However, I can wear thick or thin socks, as the extra space provides comfort rather than slippage/movement. I wear these when running on the treadmill, 5ks, 1 hour gym workouts (light-medium intensity), and even to run errands, go to classes, or work in a research lab. I also tried the Ghost and Ghost GTX, and the Glycerine 23 came out on top for me. Truly, the comfort is nothing like I've ever worn before, and even with the extra cushioning, the shoes are very lightweight.

Glycerin 23 balances cushion with support
