Perfect Wedding Outfit!
Yes, I recommend this
I brought these navy chinos for my son to wear at a wedding. He wore them with the M&S Oxford white shirt. He had so many compliments! His outfit was completed by wearing; blue Chelsea boots, handmade tartan waistcoat and tartan bow tie. I was really pleased with quality of the M&S clothing. My son isn’t small/short, however he did have to wear the 18-24month trousers despite wearing the aged 2-3 shirt. I was so impressed by the quality that I’ve brought the aged 2-3 trousers as well, so he can grow into them! Once I’d found the size to fit him, they fitted absolutely perfectly. Highly recommended!

These chinos look great on. Purchased in tan and navy. Pull in waist ideal for skinny child. Son says they are very comfy. They are quite long but can be rolled up again

Lovely trousers but sorry, no stretch
No, I don't recommend this
We bought these for grandson and had them delivered to him. When his Mum tried them on him, they were miles too long and the waist was too tight with no stretch. He is wearing the same size chinos from other brands without any problems. I think M &S should look more closely at their sizing.

Disappointing

Disappointingly massive. I bought four pairs of these in different colours as they are lovely trousers, BUT...My son is 5 and a half so I purchased age 5-6 and they are enormous. The waist is just so big as is the length. I purchased age 4-5 in case it is my son's build that is small- again, absolutely huge on the waist, andca belt just doesn't help. This is such a shame as I had this problem with some joggers at christmas and had the exact same issue with trousers for my baby and school trousers as well. Marks and Spencer's seems to be way off with boys' sizing in trousers so I shall not be purchasing children's trousers from them again- which is a shame as we buy lots of other things from them. Very disappointing.

very skinny legs but huge waist
No, I don't recommend this
the cut on these trousers is so peculiar - in order to fit my pretty slim average height 6-year old i have to adjust the waist in a fair bit which is par for the course. however the legs in the trousers are so skinny - and when trying them on they totally fail the "can you lift your knees up" test. despite the stretch material its obviously not enough to provide a comfortable fit around the groin. i was hoping to get a pair of lighter weight trousers, but they will be too tight for comfortable war in the summer heat being cut so tight around the leg. The total mismatch between waist size and leg width that mystifies me - anyone wearing these with a shirt tucked in would look so scruffy as the waist band would be pulled in so tight as to look messy. needless to say they are going back, but its such a disappointment as have been buying M&S Chinos in navy and tan since age 18 months, and now they have changed the style it just doesn't work for us (and i'm guessing less good for anyone else who doesn't have apple shapped children with stick thin legs!)
