Checked Long Sleeve Shirt Maxi Dress

Unwearable for me -far too small - great disappointment as I love the style

Bit heavy looking but soft and comfortable to wear

After reading reviews I ordered size 8 and 10. Decided to stick with the 8. I cannot do up the button across the chest but looks lovely with a cami top underneath. I found the 10 to also be tight across the chest so for me there was no benefit in buying the larger size. The dress is a slim fit style. Surprisingly I had no problem with the length - I’m 5’ 2”. Chest 32C/D

After reading the reviews I decided to go a size up, I am usually a 16 lower half and 18 on top so I purchased a 20, it fits but is very baggy. If I had gone for the 18 it would have fitted perfectly. All the men that have seen my dress have said it looks like a nightdress, the women have all said it’s absolutely stunning and very flattering. I am 5’6” and it comes to my ankles and when I sit in it, the button area does not gape, which it probably would have done if I stuck to the correct size, but it would have been even more gorgeous. The shape and pattern also hide a multitude of sins and makes me feel confident when wearing it.

Glad I ordered a size larger than I normally do as it comes up small.....lovely dress, good colours and material. I like it.

lovely fit - i am a size 14 - the button just on the middle of my bra fitted a little too tight not enough to go up to size 16-this would have been too big. overall i love the shape & length of dress - lovely colour, beautiful fabric - just love this dress

This is one of my favourites this season from M&S. It looks lovely as a dress, it works well over trousers (partially undone from the bottom up) as a top and is brilliant with the hooded jumper in cream from M&S over the top as a skirt with a bit of the collar showing. It washes well too, which is good considering how much wear the poor thing is getting! I'd definitely recommend it to anybody who likes the 'smart-casual' look.

Received so many fantastic comments about this dress. It's flattering and easy to wear either during the day with cowgirl boots or in the evening with a strappy pair of sandals. The fit on the bust is a little snug and, as previously mentioned, the buttons can gape at times but I stick a camisole underneath and open a couple of buttons and looks great. I would recommend this dress. Buy it! Wear it! and just wait for the comments to come flooding in! Most of all enjoy it!

I read all the reviews regarding bodice and sleeves being too tight/snug and sizing wasn't true to size. So even though I usually find M & S sizing perfect for me - size 18, 5' 7" with a 38C bust I decided to buy a size 20. Should have trusted my instincts and M & S because this size was too big therefore the dress didn't look as good as it should. The cuffs are wide with 3 buttons which does feel snug, but when I undid the top button it felt perfect. The length of the dress came to my ankles.

Lovely dress and good quality. The fit is a bit on the small side across the shoulders so I went a size up based on previous reviewer comments. It is long, I am 5'6" and it is just at ankle length, which is fine for me. The sleeves are lovely with a deep cuff with 3 button fastening which is a nice detail. Possibly the only thing the dress lacks is some inseam pockets at the side.

When I saw this thought great bought one size up to ensure it hung well.....I have a small chest it was so tight buttons gaped it pulled.......bought one two sizes bigger much better fit not sure who advised on sizing ...m&s please check

I particularly like the shape of this dress- plenty of fabric in the skirt and well fitting top part. Nice soft fabric with a little bit of weight so it hangs well. Longer than expected, so I might hem it- or might not. Good colours in the tartan pattern, could be worn with red belt.

Lovely dress, nice fabric and great length. Going by online reviews I ordered larger size but still too small across the bust, sleeves very tight and too short. M&S sizes used to be very good but recently sizing not good. Will be returning.

I really like this dress and the way it hangs but it is far too long for an average height person. If i could be bothered, I would keep it and hem it by about an inch but I can't so I'm going to return it. It is described as a maxi so I shouldn't have been surprised but when shown on a tall model, it looked calf length and very wearable with a pair of heeled boots.
