This simple two-piece pinafore and T-shirt is a cool update on a childhood classic. The stylish pinstripe, apron-style criss-cross back and pleated waist up its style credentials. I’m particularly enamoured by it, as I’m constantly trying to battle my tomboy of a daughter into more feminine looks (androgynous is cool, but I long for the occasional floaty skirt), and this style is unfussy enough to placate the less girly girl. Available for ages 5 to 14, it’s also mercifully easy to put on – no zips or complicated buttons – so it should helpfully bypass those frantic morning outfit assemblages. And the lightweight cotton will keep her cool, even on the stickiest of summer days.
