Amarone della Valpolicella - Case of 6

a very young wine for a valpolicella but a good drink all the same

Very enjoyable Amarone, this is our 2nd case and definitely one we will be repeating…it is incredibly consistent.

We really like this wine. It’s full of flavour and distinctly porty. Obviously great with cheese and red meat etc. The price is higher than we normally pay for wine, but think this is worth the money and great for more special dinners.

I bought this to send an upscale special gift to each of my sisters for Christmas! I was so pleased to see a special offer on this exquisite wine… especially when budgets are tighter during the holidays! Thank you M&S for helping me to create special memories with my sisters! Zoom drinks and family time we’re that much nicer with a beautiful quality wine to enjoy remotely together.

Very good but unfortunately a little disappointing. Not as good as the 2016 vintage of the same wine from the same producer which you supplied last time.

We bought a case of this for Christmas to share with the family, based on two individual purchases in the month of November. Due to Covid we couldn’t get together with the family, so shared the bottles out. To our dismay the feedback from all parties was poor. We then tried our 2 bottles and were really disappointed as well. We can only assume that we received a duff batch based on our prior experience. Somewhat embarrassed at having hyped it up to the family.

Even though its a wee bit more than I normally spend, the £3 off deal made it more attractive.....well thats my excuse. The first one I bought last year was a 2017 and it was brilliant, but just this week the 17s are gone and the 18s are now on the shelves. Not as good but still very acceptable. Was told by an Italian gentleman that 4 years plus to get the best out of an Amarone or Valpollicella Ripasso.

If you like a full bodied red wine, this is for you. Great with meats, pastas, cheeses. It needs to be opened for about 30 minutes before pouring and should never be cooled in a fridge. Swirl your wine in the glass to allow aeration and allow the wonderful bouquet to rest on your senses. Always a firm favourite for the discerning red wine drinker ( i consider myself a fan of most Amarone wines )

It's a nice, full-bodied Amarone, good for a special occasion or with barbequed meats. For fans of sun-dried grape wines.

My cousin brought this wine round for my husbands birthday. We love red wine and this was one we had never tried. It was beautiful, so rich and sumptuous that we ordered two cases of six. Expensive but worth every penny

I really love this bottle. It's got that Italian lightness, yet is rich and flavoursome. Smooth on the tongue and explodes into lots of cherry flavours, with a slight peppery spice. Easy finish, but there's enough tannins there to make it last. It really is a lovely wine. I just wish it were a touch cheaper :-)
