Premium yarns make this minimal lightweight jumper a luxurious wardrobe staple, says menswear editor Ian Wright
Clean and precise, this Autograph jumper is an exercise in design restraint. Made from a mix of high-quality merino wool and silk, the block colour sections on the body and arms make for a sophisticated and luxurious sweater. But one thing that doesn’t always come with more upmarket materials is practicality – handy, then, that you can pop this knit in both the washing machine and the tumble dryer without worrying about how it’s going to emerge at the end of the cycle. Worn over a crisp white shirt with grey checked or simple black trousers, it’s smart enough for an evening out. Alternatively, team it with chinos for a more relaxed weekend look. I’m normally a fan of pushing the sleeves up to style knitwear, but on this occasion keeping the cuffs on the wrist helps maintain the jumper’s minimal appeal.
