Cotton Rich A-Line Midi Skirt with Belt

I really like this skirt. It's a midi length I am 5 ft 7 and I don't think it would suit a petite person. The belt/waistband is deep. Looks really good but not too comfortable if that would bother you. The fabric is heavy. That forms part of the structure of the skirt, i.e., it is quite stiff and structured. It has pockets Woopwoop Can't wait to wear it!

A really flattering skirt. The wide belt draws attention to the waist and the shape and length of the skirt balance the hips and ankles. The fit is perfect on me. I love pockets and these are designed so as not to bulge. Quite heavy denim suitable for all seasons apart from mid summer. Not a skirt to pack in a suitcase! I think it is casual but also chic and elegant too. I absolutely love it. Envisage myself wearing this for years. Well done M&S. Thank you.

The skirt was too small.I take a 14 in M&S clothes but this was way too small and the skirt heavy due to the material being fairly thick. Had to return.

I am a British average 5ft 4ins. This skirt was trailing on the floor.Nice skirt but how it can be described as a 'midi'????

I'm not exactly apple, more brick and tend to keep away from A-line skirts but the superb styling makes up for it not being the most flattering skirt in my wardrobe. I have barely taken it off since it arrived.

I am 5'9" and am always looking for mid length skirts with style, and this is really good. Heavy denim, excellent belt, and it has pockets. With thick tights, boots and a roll neck sweater it is a perfect 'between' winter and spring outfit. There don't seem to be many available though: what's happened to the supply chain, M&S?

Well done M&S! I love this skirt. I ordered both a 14 and a 16 and immediately returned the 14 as due to the width of the belt it was uncomfortable around the waistline. However the jury is still out on whether to keep the 16 due to the stiffness of the fabric.. but on style, length and quality it is a winner.

I ordered this skirt as it is rare to find a smart style that is not too short for a more mature woman. It is indeed quite stylish and well-made.....however, I am returning it as the material is awful, thick, stiff and heavy. If it were in a lighter fabric it would be perfect but this material would be unbearable in the summer.

I really like the style of this skirt- it's very flattering at the waist, as it has a wide waistband which holds you in there (if you need it) before flaring out gently, to quite a long length. The odd thing is that the fabric is very thick and heavy, like the thick, strong denim that early jeans were originally made with. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but was surprising. After the first wash the skirt was like a board, but did loosen up a bit with ironing. It had shrunk a tiny bit, but still looked and felt fine. The bonus might be that this fabric behaves like that old denim, and eventually becomes soft and nicely faded, so that you can wear the skirt like a much- loved pair of old jeans. Time will tell.

This was fine on me standing up. However when I sat down the broad belt which settled above my natural waist really dug in and was so uncomfortable I decided to send it back. I am not particularly slim: I am an apple shaped size12 but I think this may be an issue for other apple shaped women and there are a lot of us around!

Great shape, good quality and a perfect interpretation of current trends. This could easily have come from a much more expensive and "fashionable" store. I haven't reviewed anything before, but have done so now because I'd love M&S to produce more design gems like this.

A lovely skirt, heavy denim, wide belt. It is fairly long (I am 5'4) but I like midi skirts, so happy with that. I had to go down a size, because it needs to fit on the waist, and it is accommodating of a small waist and larger hips, which makes me very happy-size 12 instead of 14, always a good buy.

I bought this skirt today after trying it on in the Liverpool store it is a must have skirt. It fits true to size, I am size 12 and 5’9, the length is perfect for the style of skirt, very lower calf and it falls beautifully. It gives you the look of a small waist and hips, which doesn’t normally happen with a full skirt! Yes it’s quite heavy material but not so it’s a problem I really think you need to go out and buy this skirt you won’t regret it.

I wanted a midi skirt that would work for winter and spring seasons. (I almost bought a Joseph skirt which costs 10 times the price). I was obviously really happy to stumble on this M&S gem. The style and length are absolutely on trend. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is that it’s a bit on the large side (the fit), sadly the size 8 was sold out, otherwise I would have exchanged it. Because the 10 is too loose on me, it hangs a bit lower. A disclaimer here...I am actually a size 8, but I really wanted this skirt, so decided to go for the 10 anyway. I would suggest you get your size. The fabric is a stiff denim, which becomes softer once you wear it. It goes with everything too. Looks amazing with black swede boots!
