Produced by Tenuta Valdipiatta, a small, family-run estate in the heart of Montepulciano’s Vino Nobile zone, this wine is made from 95% Sangiovese (known locally as Prugnolo Gentile) and a touch of Canaiolo. The grapes were hand harvested from the estate’s 40 hectare of mature vineyards, which are towards the end of their conversion to organic status. The wine was traditionally fermented in French oak barriques and then matured in large Slavonian barrels.

Sadly I bouh6ht three of the above wine. I agree with the other reviewers one star is probably too high a rating. I believe the M&S wine storage is once again the problem. A good wine from a good wine producer tainted by poor handling and storage. Looks like Waitrose will be getting mh money in the future. Very sad

Very poor quality it was brown and tasted sour I have complained . I can only think it had been stored in direct sunlight as had tasted this w8ne before and liked it .

2014 Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano
Yes, I recommend this
Deep ruby- cherry red robe. Bramblefruit nose with hints of violet. lifted. Full palate. Smooth, elegant, fine, soft tannin, grippy. Long finish, mulberries with hints of black cherry. If you like Italian wines (particularly Tuscan), you'll enjoy this, at an affordable price.
