[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love convertible pants for camping and travel. I loved these pants so much I got them in every color. The black is great even to dress up for day to night, dinner, etc. I’m 5’4” and the length is absolutely perfect for me.

Just barely good enough! Finally!

I have these pants from ~2010 and loved them for many years, but they are a little too small now since I've gained some weight. I have been wearing the men's version since 2018 when I decided that I absolutely needed cargo pockets big enough for my wallet and phone to hike the Camino de Santiago. I've gone through about 3 pairs of the men's version since then, thanks to increasingly shoddy construction, and finally decided to give the women's version another go. I'm a true size 14 in every other brand, so I bought the 16 (the biggest non-plus-size size they make) and crossed my fingers, and they fit! They fit extremely snugly, but I expect them to stretch in the waist with wear. Now let's talk pockets. There is one cargo pocket with a velcro closure that is big enough for a wallet and/or phone. Why one, when the men have two, and one of the men's has a zipper? And in exchange for this one luxury, they have removed the left butt cheek pocket. There is also a pocket with no closure whatsoever on the back of the right thigh. It is technically just big enough for my phone, but I don't foresee ever using it since its contents would immediately be in a creek. There is also a small zipper pocket inside the right hip pocket that I guess you could store extra cash in if you expect to get mugged? The strangest part to me is that every version (men's and women's) of these I've owned before is nylon, and these are 100% polyester, yet make all the same claims about the fabric being "omni-cool," "omni-wick," "omni-shade," whatever. I expect them to be pretty uncomfortable in hot or humid conditions. Other than the fit and looking slightly less like a grungy backpacker, the part I was most looking forward to about switching back to the women's version was the little snappy-do that on my 2010 pants let me convert them to capri length. These have the snappy-do, but it allows you to roll the pants up....drumroll....one inch from the bottom hem. Huh? Why? TL;DR I will be keeping these because the fit is much more flattering than the men's and the pocket situation is adequate, I suppose. Buy one full size up.

Strange Sizing
Originally posted on columbia.com
I read the reviews and hoped size 10 would work for me. The sizing was off plus the length from my waist to crotch was short. The outside pockets were not flattering. Regrettably, I returned the pants. I hope the Saturday Day pants will be restocked. I have them on right now ( also size 10) and they are very comfy.

Why tf are the thighs so tight?
Originally posted on columbia.com
No, I don't recommend this
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not curvy. I’m 5’6” 130lb. The waist fits perfectly, but the thighs are WAY too tight, I can barely pull them all the way up. Can’t imagine wearing them as shorts, they’d look like a bad pair of bike shorts. Bottom half is too tight as well, these should be slightly baggy everywhere but the waist. Don’t buy unless you have tiny legs. Extremely disappointed.

Narrow in the waist and hips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to a new pair of Columbia hiking pants, but these run narrow and small, and the waist band does not stretch. Usually I fit size 6-8, but was unable to zip this pants up (I ordered a size 6 ). I am 5-4" tall and weigh 122 lbs. For comparison I tried my old Columbia pants and they still fit comfortably. I would recommend ordering one or two sizes larger. The material is nice and light - too bad the design isnʻt more forgiving.

Zip-off thigh area far too tight

I tried these pants on at a local sporting goods store and found the thigh area where the zip-off legs are located to be so tight I couldn't pull up the pants all the way. I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds and very fit but do not muscle-build in my thighs. These pants might fit those with stick-thin legs but if your thighs have any muscle at all from normal fitness (hiking, cycling, elliptical training) give them a pass.

Button instead of snap
Originally posted on columbia.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these pants! I'm generally a 14 in Columbia pants and the 14s fit perfectly. However, I removed a star because the closure is a standard button that can fall off instead of the hardier, longer lasting Columbia metal snap.

Runs small; design and materials uncomfortable.
Originally posted on columbia.com
I've worn this pant for years and with age, needed a slightly larger size. I'm normally a 12-14 in most brands, but know Columbia's Silver Ridge has minimal give to the material, so went up to a 16, which barely fit and thus, will be returned. I think Columbia has perhaps rested on their laurels as one of the OG outdoor clothing designers and has not kept pace with advances in materials and design in this industry. It's a shame, but there are so many other comparable manufacturers that are making better products in the same price point that it's hard to consider Columbia anymore when replacing old hiking gear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having worn such (by other companies) for years, these fit as expected with comfort. Great sale price! Appreciate the cuff cinch ability. Deep side pockets would be great, but absence of is not a deal breaker! I’m sure they’ll wear well on upcoming trips to Alaska and Central America!

Meh.

Meh. Standard women’s clothing problems. Small pockets. Too tight through the thighs and too large through the waist (for my curvy body anyway). Might work well on a straight body with slim legs. No stretch. Probably would have returned, but I figured I’d give them a chance.

Returned. Not meant for people with wider hips and thighs and butt. Also low rise and sizing is inaccurate.

I bought the gray pair this summer for a fall trip. They are very versatile and can turn into shorts as fast as I can zip the legs off. Very easy. Roomie for my curvy figure. I would have gotten more but they didn’t have my size. I’m almost 5’8 & wear a large. I will add that the snaps are hard to undo, so I just snap the top one for ease.

Odd fit around the thigh

It's hard to imagine the fit on the leg fitting anyone comfortably. The waist was loose, but passable, the length of the inseam was a bit long, but the pants were much too tight around the thigh. And I have quite slender thighs! It wasn't comfortable at all for clothing that should allow movement for activity. Was the design trying to be more fashionable than functional? Getting a larger size would increase the waist size too much. Very disappointed.
