About this style
This Motion technical parka from Sweaty Betty provides generous protection from the elements. It's cut in a regular fit to a longline silhouette for extra coverage. A hood and a funnel neckline help you stay snug, while the waist is elasticated and adjustable for a customised look. The front zip fastening is tucked behind a popper-fastened storm flap. Flap pockets complete this piece.

Extra zip pockets are gone?! Why?
Originally posted on sweatybetty.com
No, I don't recommend this
This is my third coat and I am hoping it will be waterproof not just showeproof like previous ones. I was hoping that this time they will improve with length of sleeves but nope. Still shorten than I would like. The big downside (and that why only 2 stars) are removing extra zip pockets which were absolutely great and why I loved the previous coats. Not happy about it. Also have to say that black coat looks a bit … cheap and boring compared to other colours (green, blue).

Love this coat! Makes be feel elegant and put together, but very functional and keeps me dry in the downpours. The waist drawstring gives a great shape and the long length keeps my legs dry too.

Not for everyone

It's a great Parka but the positioning of the drawstring didn't suit me as I have a longer torso

Best lightweight coat I’ve ever owned

Had this coat 1 year and it’s the best coat I’ve ever owned. Totally waterproof and light so perfect for layering. You can exercise without sweating as breathable material . Comes up large for sizing - is an elastic band around waist to tighten

Not flattering at all. A lot of fabric around hips - Makes hips look very wide.

Hood is to small

Beautiful colour, nice quality. But the hood is disappointingly small... It's impossible to comfortably wear the coat zipped up with the hood. It feels restricting and not perfect for rainy weather.

Cost-cutting changes = inferior product
Originally posted on sweatybetty.com
I purchased the Motion Technical Longline Parka (in black) online assuming it was essentially the same as the Motion Longline Parka but in a different colour, given they are priced identically. However, the Motion Technical Longline Parka is inferior as: - the hood is slightly shorter and not detachable; and - while the front pockets have been retained, it has no side pockets. The feedback on its prior iteration from several customers requesting slightly longer sleeves has also not been taken on board. As someone who owns the previous Motion Longline Parka in multiple colours, while these minor changes (or lack thereof) to its successor may help to reduce manufacturing costs, it has come at the expense of quality and value.
