Filled with explosive action, the LEGO Minecraft Pickaxe Mine (21277) is a fun, interactive building toy for 8+ year old boys and girls. The building set includes 3 LEGO Minecraft figures: popular gaming character Alex, a Miner and a stray spider jockey. There's also a baby polar bear figure at the mine's surface. Kids can extract Minecraft ore from the mine, load it into a minecart and transport it along the track to be stored in a chest. The cart can be filled with TNT and launched into the rock wall, blasting through the other side. And when the day's mining adventures come to an end, the LEGO Minecraft pickaxe toy doubles as a fun display piece. Overall the set's instructions are straightfoward and easy to follow. However, we have been noticing with the Minecraft sets that there are minor discrepancies in the directions as well as 1 or 2 missing pieces. My son loved putting it together and playing with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is incentivized. I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. The LEGO Pickaxe Minecraft spider jockey set is so cute. The pieces are packaged into separate “phases” to make it easier to put together. The instructions are easy to follow. What I liked most is that the mine cart actually rolls along the track. The set is really popular with my middle school aged children, who love Minecraft. Based on the popularity of Minecraft, I think kids (and adults) of all ages would have a blast building this LEGO set.

I think it’s a good set but I think it’s a bit of a simplistic design and I would have liked to see a more intricate set, maybe incorporating the pickaxe into a mountain side or having an actual mine that you build around the entire set. Still a fun Lego set.

The pieces are well organized, and the instructions are easy to follow. The pickaxe-shaped mine design is super creative. We loved the characters it comes with—Alex, a miner, and even a baby polar bear. You can even load the cart with TNT and blast the wall—my son thought that was the coolest part! It’s perfect for kids 8+, but also great to build as a family project. And once it’s done, it looks awesome as a display piece. Highly recommend it for Minecraft lovers and creative LEGO fans!

I took him out to watch the Minecraft movie in theaters and this set was perfect to finish our night! I dropped a large clunk of this set off the table and to my surprise it was still put together! The packaging was extremely convenient! Every bag was numbered and the instructions were super easy to follow! Great project to put together.

These legos are a nightmare if found on the floor they do not break. When finished this thing is getting glued and put on a mantle it’s very cool looking especially if your kids like Minecraft!

The centerpiece is a large pixelated pickaxe, capturing the iconic tool in Minecraft style. It features mine and TNT Minecart launcher, and minifigure action. My 9-year-old is a super fan of Minecraft and has a lot of fun building it, and playing with it. After play, it doubles as stylish gamer-room décor thanks to its blocky, modular design.
