Cast Iron Casserole

This is the first time I have bought cast iron casserole pots. I have been slightly put off by the weight and although this is weighty I have I am able to lift it comfortably . It cooks the food well and hardly any steam escapes. Really like this from a practical point of view but also it looks classy.

Lovely cast iron casserole, considerably cheaper than the branded equivalent but just as good. Made a brilliant Irish stew and perfect for pre-frying and then transferring to oven. Heavy, yes, and not sure I could cope with anything bigger, but very pleased with the purchase. Perfect results, and attractive to serve straight from oven.

Excellent quality, good size, looks super in the kitchen, excellent value as bought on promotion.

I already have the cast iron shallow casserole dish, which I'm thrilled with and although I plan to buy this deeper casserole dish for myself, I have actually bought this one for a friend as a wedding present. I know she will love cooking with it and it will serve her and her family well for years to come. These pans are fantastic for cooking and extremely versatile going from hob, to oven and straight to the table where they look great and continue to keep food warm throughout the meal. I'd love to be able to get these in other colours, such as turquoise, lime green or orange, so that I can have a beautiful colourful collection. Although the cream colour is very elegant, I don't know if it would begin discolour slightly with use over the years so I wouldn't buy that colour. A pricey treat but a great long term investment.

Excellent buy. The product closely matches the description, the price / quality is quite appropriate and in terms of speed of delivery was very very fast, especially for a delivery in Portugal.

Simple, but effective and multi functional

I'd already bought this and the really stylish shallow casserole in white as presents while the home discount offer was on. The more I thought about them, the more I wanted the large casserole too. Mine is red, the quality is superb (certainly as good as the famous but expensive French versions)and the size means I can bulk cook in one pot. If you order any of these items for collection at a store, be prepared for bigger packages than you'll imagine as the products are double boxed - and don't forget they're heavy!

I looked on the web pages for ages as I wanted a large casserole dish for my daughter-in-law's Christmas and was delighted to find just what I wanted on the M&S web site. It is not tried and tested yet but I would certainly be delighted with it as a gift.

Bought as part of wedding present sent to Australia. Arrived safe and sound. Well liked by bride.
