INSTAGRAM INSIDERS:
HOW TO WEAR COLOUR

Want to be the first to shop the latest must-have pieces from M&S? Then you need to follow the M&S Insiders on Instagram. Below, five of the team show us how to wear the new autumn colours

The colour-pop dress

“I love this knitted rib dress. Adding colour to your outfit doesn’t mean you have to go super bright – these are both fairly easy, flattering colours to wear. You can either go all-out tonal (like I’ve done in the rust version) or opt for a bit of contrast, like the electric blue. Also, just so you know, this is a ridiculously comfy dress (another reason I love it so much) and I’ve heard it makes a great wardrobe staple if you’re pregnant.”

The floral trousers

“These trousers are the perfect way to add a blast of happiness to your outfit, they’re both just so cheery! Pink and green is one of my favourite colour combinations right now, and the red trousers absolutely scream autumn. I’ve worn both with easy-going neutrals – oatmeal for the green florals, which feels more daytime, and black for the red to add some drama.”

The statement midi skirts

“This gorgeous coppery orange colour is everything – it’s basically autumn in a skirt! And really like the wider pleats on this kilt-like midi – often I find them more flattering.”

Nicola, left, beauty assistant, Gyle store @marksandspencer_nicola

“This skirt is the perfect intro into wearing colour if you’re not used to it. The ombre effect adds a pop, but it’s kind of subtle, which I really like. And it takes your eyes down – ideal for showing off a fab new pair of boots!”

The bright bags

“Choosing a black, navy or grey bag is an easy default choice, but you shouldn’t swerve colour completely – give it a go, you’ll be amazed how versatile colour actually is. These are my two favourites: the burnt orange is such a bold, strong style and the mini vanity bag? Well, it’s just legit superb!”
