Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4. Cut the pastry (1 pack) into four rectangles and trim the edges of each piece to create strips for your bandages.

Spread the blackberry and apple preserve (4 tbsp) onto the pastry bases, leaving a slight border, and then arrange the apples (3).

Add the pastry strips on top of the apple to create bandages. Crimp the edges with a fork and brush the pastry with the egg (1). Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden. Allow to cool.

While the tarts are baking, make the fondant icing eyes. Create rounds using the fondant icing (as needed) and then add a pupil with the black food colouring (as needed).

Once the tarts have cooked and cooled, add the eyes to the tarts to create four spooky mummies.
