A smooth and complex medium-bodied red with sumptuous black cherry, warm spice, violet and truffle characteristics.
This deeply satisfying wine is from the Langhe region of Piedmont, a range of hills by the Tanaro river where the Nebbiolo grape is king. Selecting fruit from the Treiso and Neive communes, M&S winemaker Jeneve Williams and local expert Claudio Manera made this elegant wine using large Slavonian oak barrels to soften and integrate its seductive flavours.

Barbaresco 2013
No, I don't recommend this
Very watered down and rough tasting. A real disappointment. Absolutely nothing like its description. Not recommended.

A Disappointing Bottle of Wine.
No, I don't recommend this
A very disappointing purchase, and certainly nowhere near worthy of its £12 price tag. It is labelled as "Smooth and Complex, with sumptuous black cherry, warm spice, violet and truffle characteristics" Well, considering it is 14%, it tastes really lightweight. It looks like very watered down blackcurrant juice, to the point you can read text through the glass. I was expecting something along the lines of a nice Sangiovese, but this wine seems to have lost the black cherry note completely, and is most certainly not "Sumptuous" in any way, shape, or form. I am usually very pleased with the quality of wines from M&S, but this is a real let-down. I would not have been impressed if it was half the price that I paid.

Lovely lunch wine
Yes, I recommend this
This wine is elegant, subtle and complex. We enjoyed it with friends over a lunch of fried polenta, with mixed mushrooms, goats cheese and rocket in a truffle oil dressing. Great pairing, happy to buy this again.

Insiped Red Wine
No, I don't recommend this
This is an insipid Italian red wine which lacks body, colour and taste! Very disappointing wine from the Piedmont region.
