These are great everyday running shorts that deserve a five star rating but I had to cut a star. The quality and attention to detail is very impressive for a shoe company making shorts. The material of the exterior and liner is a bit heavy for summer but it's perfect for the rest of the year. I'm 5' 8" 140 pounds and wear small in nearly every brand, I'd say the fit is a hair small compared to most shorts and the liner goes down further on the sides than anything I've worn before which may make it feel a hair smaller. The liner feels odd briefly then I don't notice. If you put gels in the liner pockets for quick access the tops would rub on your skin, so these are not for race day. Despite my gripes I bought a second pair.

These shorts are great. One benefit for my marathon training is I keep finding more little pockets to put gels in that I didn't see in the original pics. They do fit snuggly. My measurements say the small side of a medium, but if I was any heavier I would go up a size. So if you are on the high end of the measurements, I would size up. Liber is very comfortable with no chaffing issues

Perfect fit for the runners that lift heavy. These shorts fit perfectly with minimal “ride up” when running for the guys that squat heavy and have thick thighs. I am 5’8”, 185 with a powerlifting/crossfit back ground that moved to endurance and these shorts are perfect.

Help with sizing

Was worried about the fit so I ordered two sizes M and L. I'm 5' 10" 160lbs. I wear size 31" waist from Levi's and GAP. While I prefer the feel of the elastic waist band on the Large, the fit is entirely wrong with the leg openings too large. Medium is the right size as far as appearance. The waist is comparable to an adidas running short I also own, so these are not particularly smaller than the competition. These shorts are not forgiving if you are slightly to moderately overweight, so I think that's where the sizing complaints are coming from. If you also wear size 31" then get a Medium. I think 32" waist would be slightly too snug. The NB models are size 30" waist and they wear Mediums.

This back pocket WILL NOT hold a smartphone. I have an iPhone 14 and it doesn’t fit. This is disappointing as I store my phone in other running shorts for outdoor runs.

I like these shorts, but they turned out to be way too tight. My hip size is 95 cm, so I got M (hip size range 94-102 cm), but the waistband is so tight it really hurts on longer runs.
