Secret Support™ Velvet Dress

The Secret Support it works, the pattern and shape makes you look slimmer, but it seems to be too tight - maybe I should take one size bigger? (Gonna give my mum, she is one size smaller than me)

I wasn't sure about this dress. Being a pear shape, body-con dresses are not always my friends, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It is a great length on me (5'10") - below knee, which counteracts the close fit so that it doesn't look tarty. The other comments about the zip bulging are right, but on me it wasn't a deal breaker. Think a lighter weight zip would have solved that problem. I loved the dark purple colour too. Gave it a good rating, just because of the zip - but it is very close to excellent especially given the price. Think it will be a go to winter party dress for years to come.

It breaks my heart to return this dress as, apart from the zip problem, it is a beautiful dress - great style, lovely colour, excellent length for those of us who are past the age of "skater" dresses (more in 110cm please). The only issue is the zip that bulges out at the back in a peculiar way. I ordered another to see if it was a one-off fault, but the second dress was worse, I see now I'm not alone with the problem. The dress fitted fine otherwise, so I think it may be a mismatch between the heavy zip and the stretch velvet fabric. What a shame it wasn't designed as a pull on dress.

Sadly will have to return the dress due to the strange bulge at the back when zipped up. Really nice shape, length and colour.

Unfortunately the zip is of poor quality and grinds as it is closed. It needs a hook and eye as it gapes at the top. The material is lovely, the cut is not quite right, the secret support slip sewn into it is too skimpy for me being 5'10. Really sad to have to return it.

Really lovely deep coloured dress. It fits well and is very comfortable. It also has the added advantage of being flattering. The size is perfect and was as advertised. I would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful fabric and fit, I love it! Skims off the hips and gathers over the tummy area to hide unwanted curves! Lovely mid calf length. Cowl neck slightly asymmetric adding extra interest.

Just bought this dress in store. I am a size 14 but there was only a size 16 left so I tried it on and it fitted apart from the zip at the back which doesn't lie flat. I had to pull the dress down to stop the zip from sticking up. I bought it to go to a black-tie dinner on Saturday but I am also going to wear it to a Christmas dinner and also to my niece's wedding in January. Lovely material and colour!!

beautiful style, beautiful material, gorgeous colour, arms covered & below the knee: Thought I had my Christmas party dress sorted - until I looked at the side view in the mirror. The zip does not lie flat; it bulges outwards in such an exaggerated fashion that it looked like I had a bust at the back. In case it was a faulty one off, I ordered another one, in a smaller size - same problem. Made even more annoying by the fact that a zip is actually not needed. Returned - very disappointing.

Really flattering, lovely style and colour but the zip at the back is too heavy for the fabric so it bulges. Not my favourite look. I tried different sizes with same result (although more bulging on larger size)

I was so excited to find this dress online - exactly what I had been looking for, and when I saw it on the hanger I couldn't wait to try it on. It looked gorgeous and the secret slimming is genius! However when I looked side-on, the back zip made me look like a hunchback - it seemed to have a life of its own. Not sure if the zip is too stiff, or too long, but it definately wanted to stick out unless I pulled the dress down over my hips. What a pity.

This is my Christmas present to me. It looks better on than off, fits great and makes me look fab. Happy happy person.
