Classic Ceramic Collection Soap Dispenser

I brought this and within a few months the bottom had fallen off and started to leave rust marks on the sink. I was going to purchase another today but after reading the other reviews I realise that it is a common problem so will have to look for something else. It's a shame because it looks good and is good value.....if only it didn't fall apart!

I purchased two of these, the one in the main bathroom which was used regularly started to leave rust stain marks on the wash hand basin, with rust forming on the bottom. Swapped it for the other thinking that one may have been faulty only for the same thing to happen. Not faulty product just poorly designed. The metal on the bottom, underneath soon breaks out with rust patches, which are difficult to clean off the ceramics.

8 of these purchased as presents and all experienced RUST problems. 4 of these have now been returned to M & S to investigate. Unfortunately the other 4 were disposed of due to problems. These are smart looking but poor quality.

I bought this dispenser for our new bathroom and i looked great. Within a very short time frame the bottom fell off although I quite like it now without the base but the rot is now starting to go rusty. the pump action isn't great but it does work. May cat knocked the dispenser into the sink and the bottom broke off. i now have to find another but it wont be the same product again!

These dispensers work well, and fit in with our other M&S bathroom items, they sit solidly alongside the washbowl on the tabletop.. Being ceramic and chrome makes for good looks, but also makes the item quite heavy, this was a concern if the dispenser was placed on the washbowl ceramic surface, which is uneven and it could easily fall over in use and maybe cause damage. Apart from this one concern we are pleased with our purchase.

The top of the dispenser would not fit properly so returned and bought from BHS. Poor quality M & S - who is checking the quality of your products?
