Tomahawk Steak

Removed packaging and wrapped end of bone with foil, seared all round with BBQ on full heat, then cooked on low for 30 mins. This turned out Medium Rare, which was excellent. It was a lot of meat for two persons and could have served three or four.

Very average steak for the price. Also the bone was so big we had to saw it to get it in the pan to brown.

I need to get a couple of negatives out the way with this product. At £25 it's only for a special occasion and I don't think it could possibly serve three, only enough leftover for a sandwich. Secondly, it measured 19inches long!! way too big for any pan in my house. My husband had to take a hacksaw and cut it to fit the pan. That said, the flavour was lovely and I liked the idea of putting it in the oven after sealing. We like our meat fairly rare, but the meat was so thick I cooked it for 30 minutes - the packaging said 25 to 30 it definitely didn't need any more and to cook it longer some would say shameful!. Would I buy it again, most definitely it tasted great and I think it's a good choice for Christmas day - drinks with neighbours first then an easy option to come home to.

First one of these we had was lovely... big eye of meat and very good quality... if expensive. Second one was poor... huge bone and smaller eye of meat... thought we may have been unlucky... so tried third one. Same again... really poor as the bone was huge again and the eye of meat was just too small to justify the price, and we had waste too as there was sinew evident that had to be cut out. Will not be trying this again. Back to my butcher.

Fantastic tomahawk steaks, three fed my five cavemen very well. Tasty, tender and juicy. My only problem was fitting them in my oven. I would certainly buy them again.

Had this item at Christmas and it was more than double the price then so this one was great value and would still serve three people. The taste was great as before bit this one had quite a lot of fat on it that I had to cut away. It was quite difficult to brown in a pan on all sides as the bone did not allow it to lay flat. But for taste and look, it definitely deserves a centre piece position on the table!

Looked smaller than I imagined it would be when we picked it up. However, this is probably down to it being shrink wrapped, because when I took it out of the fridge and took the plastic off it seemed to grow! Cooked it as per the instructions and it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely order one of these again - special occasions only though as it is quite pricey.

I ordered this at the same time as the whole fillet. When I saw it I left it in store. The eye of meat was tiny it would not feed one hungry man let alone three people. The bone was not cleaned as in picture which probably brought the steak up to its advertised weight. Not acceptable and unlike my usual experience with food ordering. I did not taste the item so have put one star as I cannot comment.

A wonderful piece of meat; the "handle" was a little excessive and needed to be sawn off so I think that the butchers should trim the bone much closer to the meat to make life easier for the cook. But that is not to criticise the excellent meat.

We went for this due to the good reviews and nice photo, but the item we got had a long thin streak of meat rather than a solid steak on, and a big strip of fat through that. The meat we ate from it was delicious, but it is very expensive for what you get. We had a ten pound voucher which reduced the price for us, but if I had paid twenty five I think I would have complained.

We had this on Christmas Day. The carving knife sliced through as easy as slicing butter. Plenty left for a sandwich later. Plenty for 2 people.

Not as French trimmed as picture so a lot of waste as a large amount of fat on the long one. But very tasty. Woud buy again for a treat. Xxxx

I purchased the tomahawk steak from M & S as it was advertised in the press and looked really good quality. When I unwrapped it I was slightly disappointed because it looked quite fatty but there was a lot of meat on it that could have fed up to 4 people. Taste was sublime :)
