M&S winemaker Belinda Kleinig and local expert Paul Lindner selected mature Shiraz grapes from the region’s Ebenezer and Seppeltsfield areas, balancing their different characters and maturing the wine in French and American oak barrels to create an opulent wine with great depth.

About this bottle: From the Wairau Valley, this classic Kiwi Pinot Noir was made by local expert Matthew Large and blended by M&S winemaker Jeneve Williams. The grapes were sourced from from high quality vineyards and blended to create a finely balanced wine that was matured in French oak to integrate the flavours and add subtle spicy depths. Drinking well now and for the next two years.

El Duque de Miralta Rioja Reserva

Our El Duque de Miralta Reserva is a smooth, velvety red from the Rioja region in Spain. It provides an array of delicate dark cherry and liquorice flavours, enriched by a hint of vanilla and smoky nuances. This well-rounded wine features smooth tannins and a balanced, long finish. It's a great match for paella, tagines or stuffed peppers.

About this bottle: Rioja, Spain's most famous red wine region, is situated in the north, along River Ebro valley and protected by the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. Winemaker Cesar Fernández sources the finest Tempranillo grapes from the 3 subregions, Alta, Baja and Alavesa to make this ageworthy Reserva. Using finely seasoned American oak barrels he ages the wines for 24 months and then a further year in bottle to produce this complex yet mellow red. Ready to drink now, this wine will keep for 3 years from the the date of purchase if stored in a cool, dry place.
