Luxury Performance Slim Fit Jeans

Trousers good A little creased in packaging

Ordered these for my husband and he liked them enough to order the other shade as well. He usually buys his own in a regular fit, which I think look a bit on the baggy side and more casual. He didn't think he'd like a slim fit, but I think he was getting confused with that and a 'skinny fit'. Anyway these look great, neater, but definitely not tight in any way and makes him look slimmer. Feels like a nice soft fabric and the bit of stretch is a plus. He usually wears a 31inch inside leg, which I think can look just a bit too long. These are supposed to be a 31, but actually measure 30, so the length is perfect.

Okay, so do I start with the good bit or the bad bit? I despair at M&S sizing these days. It drives me mad. There was a time (and not so long ago!) when if I was in M&S and saw something on a rail that I liked, then I could grab it in my size, confident that it would fit. Not anymore. They can't even get socks and pants right now (I have experienced sizing issues recently) so they obviously have no chance with the complex piece of sewing that is a pair of trousers. I have at least a half dozen pairs of various M&S jeans (I am the sort of male customer they need) and all have a 31 inch leg. I purchased these in my correct size and it looked as if they had had an argument with my shoes! A pity as they felt nice and were the colour and cut I was after. Mind you, not really sure that they were the "performance 'fabric that M&S said they were and I could see no special detailing or attention that justified the premium £45.00 that M&S were asking. As it happened, as soon as they were returned for a refund, my Sparks account gave me a 20% discount, so I purchased them again in a 33 inch leg this time. And for a more reasonable 36 quid! The whole thing was annoying and took away the pleasure of buying something.

Having read previous reviews, I have some sympathy with them. At first sight it is hard to see why these are described as "luxury performance" jeans. For example, there is no explanation on the packaging to justify this claim, and the material gives the impression of being a bit thinner and perhaps less robust than 'normal' jeans. Also, I found one pair in the Oxford store where the colour was a bit faded and uneven in places. That said, the style and cut of these jeans is excellent for my needs, and the feel of the cloth is very smooth and comfortable. The product certainly has a very slimming effect on me, and a minor point perhaps, but I have noticed that the seams (internally) appear to be very well made. I bought my jeans in the dark indigo colour. and there has been no transfer of colour since the first wash. Therefore I have been back to buy a second pair and am very happy with them.

The 'but' is because I bought these in the hope that the die would not run onto furniture after at least 7 washes - but such is the material that it did, and sadly (since our furniture is light brocade, which did clean up with some effort) my wife eventually brought things to a halt...

I was very disappointed with this product as advertise as LUXURY JEANS but not what I expected very soft material and not at all like demin quality

Poor quality, thin material. Failed to see where the 'luxury' was. Sent them back. Paid a little more and bought some Levi's.

Really nice pair of jeans. Good fit, nice cut. Fantastic cloth, soft and oozes quality.

Not as described! And colour certainly not indigo as all previous pairs purchased!!
