Boxes are no fun

Originally posted on LEGO

No, I don't recommend this

For the price these blind boxes are not worth it. The boxes take all the fun out of feeling for a figure. At least when you had the bags you knew you were getting something close to what you want or that you probably weren’t getting a duplicate. These boxes are pure luck and even then people weigh them or interpret the codes so the rest of us are at their mercy. This was a really bad idea and I’ve chosen to no longer buy these boxed mini figs and instead buy only specific ones from the secondary market.

Fun to play with but waste of money

Originally posted on LEGO

So I basically ordered LEGO Minifigures Series 25 off of eBay, I love the figures and it was fun to play and build with and put into my LEGO sets but the amount of pieces missing in the minifigures was absurd and I felt like LEGO scammed me. I was missing the Detective’s fish, Pet Groomer’s scissors, Mushroom Girl’s butterfly, Goatherd’s goat and staff, Harpy’s wings and Sprinter’s medal. Do not risk your money on this product. I don’t know if this happened because of the seller who was selling the minifigures or was it just LEGO being ridiculous.

Really disappointed...

Friends and family and I have always loved the blind bag figures. It was always a fun adventure to go to the stores and feel the blind bags to try and complete the minifig set. Testing ourselves and our skills for deciphering the props and accessories was a lot of fun. The new packaging is awful and takes all of the joy out of collecting the sets. This will ruin the fun we have had and ruin new memories. This feels like just a way to increase profits by making people spend more and more to find the figures they want. Lego sets are already expensive and this seems like an insult to loyal customers who already spend a great deal of money on full sets. VERY VERY disappointed in Lego for this. PLEASE bring back the bags.

Don’t you want more business?

Originally posted on LEGO

The quality of minifigures rarely disappoints, but the sales model leaves a lot to be desired. From recent experience, I knew it was risky to buy very many minifigures. I bought four, and got three duplicates. Seriously? If I had any level of confidence that at most I would get two duplicates of any given minifig, I would’ve bought 20. I understand the point of these individual sales is more sales, at the risk of receiving duplicates, and LEGO’s expectation is that people will buy more in the hopes of getting what they want, eventually. But you’re losing business from folks who aren’t that motivated. I used to buy four or more of the six pack boxes, but that has turned into a disaster and I won’t be buying those again until it’s clear the current duplicate box problem has been solved. Does LEGO care about the negative experience its customers are having?

Bring Back the Blind Bags!

Originally posted on LEGO

I'm a pretty hardcore Lego fan, but never in my life did I think I would write a negative review here. I love Lego, to a point where I correct my friends when they say 'Legos' where even in plural form should be 'Lego'. What I don't love, is how the seasonal, traditional, Minifigures Series went from exciting, nostalgic, mysterious, blind plastic bags to dull, boring, and uninteresting blind paper boxes. Feeling for which minifigure is inside was the beauty of this item, now there is no way to find out and you are giving us no choice but to pay more for duplicates! This is really discouraging and make me lose total interest for the series. Hear us fans out and bring back the original bags please! Respectfully,

Disappointing

I ordered two of these from this website in the same order and both ended up being the same minifigure. (The same thing happened with the new Space minifigure set too! Very frustrating!) Of the 12 in this series, there were 3 I really wanted, 3 I didn't want at all, and 6 I would have been satisfied with. I mention this because I feel the variety of this pack is too diverse. I would like to see a stronger theme to these packs (like they had for the Marvel characters) so you know you're getting at least something close to what you hoped for. Although I got 2 of the minifig I didn't want at all, I can say the quality is fine and for a single minifig, the build experience was average. It included a few extra pieces of the smaller bits, so that was appreciated.

Ordered 6 of these and they were not sorted at all at the distribution center, got 3 of 2 different figures each. Put them in boxes sure but at least have some quality control on randomization.

I learned about the QR code scanner after I had completed the set, with a few duplicates. Otherwise, this series has a good variety of themes in it. The only thing that I would like to see is a full medieval/fantasy series.

I absolutely love the fright night, goat farmer, and valkrie, and like the fury also, but there's just not enough figs in this series for the medieval setting I've been working on

What is the point of the idea of pot luck for kids? Spending so much for mostly duplicates? Are you our of your geniuses mind to deter people from getting the whole set? Shame on you

Love the product, HATE the packaging!

My son and I have made the new release of Minifigures into a Grand Adventure. We would call up friends and family to see which ones they wanted. We would decide on which we were gifting to special people. Then we would hit the stores and Nik would spend hours feeling the bags to find all the mini figs we wanted. He would also help kids when they wanted a specific figure but their parents didn't want to buy another just to get a duplicate again. Nik has NEVER been wrong when picking a figure from the blind bags. However, since Lego came out with the boxes, we have not purchased one mini figure from any store. Heck, most stores around us aren't even carrying the mini figs because they aren't selling well. We have to buy them online or at a "buy, sell, trade store" already open and usually for more money! It has destroyed an activity that we have cherished for many years. We refuse to buy any Lego mini figures in stores unless the blind bags are brought back. Lego, please, please listen to your customers and bring back the bags!

I’m SO happy with the new box the mini figs come in! Finally there is a chance to get one of the rare ones in the sets. We were so tired of all the people “feeling” up the bags and taking all of the hard to get figures. So annoying :/. Kudos to Legos for elevating the “SURPRISE” in these BLIND bags (as described) for the real Lego fans! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

terrible packaging

Originally posted on LEGO

Me and my kids used to love feeling the bags for special figures that would enhance the sets that we collect, while also having a chance not to spend money on figures we do not want. It was part of the fun of buying these. At the store, I have even been able to help other parents find the exact figure their little one wants. The new packaging has ruined this. Have you seen the sadness of a little one wanting the train figure, but getting a different one?? As long as these are packaged in blind boxes, this family will have to pass on your mini figure collections

Great figures....not so hot box

Originally posted on LEGO

The minifigs themselves are excellent. I love this series but I'm frustrated by my inability to get the knight and without a bag to feel....well I will just have to buy else where. I realize the packaging was probably driven by a desire to use materials that can be recycled which is a worthy cause. I challenge the Lego team to come up with another alternative that meets this goal and allows customers some "control" over what minifigs they buy. Most of us have a budget. I also miss the huddle around the box in a store with other customers chatting while we search and help each other find that elusive last one to complete our set. So, what say you Lego team? Can you come up with a better solution?

We all love Lego. We have purchased for years. We buy what they put out and the afol community buys many sets and many duplicates but this series packaging is down right for lack of better words flat boring. We like to know what we are getting the feel test of the bag and have fun doing it. Purchased 25 and didn’t get a complete set and 7 of the same is ridiculous. Do better Lego

Amazing figures, but duplicates ruin it.

Originally posted on LEGO

No, I don't recommend this

This set was roughly 50% figures I wanted, so I took a chance and got a few. Ultimately, it just ended up reaffirming my distaste for blindbags. Fortunately, I found that there are resources out there to help identify which figure is in the box based on their QR codes, and even before that I was able to make some good guesses by shaking the box (Cape boxes take a lot of room and thus mean less rustling pieces!). However, not all of the QR codes worked for me, and I wound up with some doubles and ultimately stopped trying before getting all the ones I wanted. Since it's generally possible to tell what the contents are anyway, maybe Lego should start putting distinct marks each box so people know which ones they've already got but leave the general contents hidden? Like all the triceratops guys would have a pattern of blue, red, yellow and all the Noir Detectives would have red, blue, blue. 3 positions with 3 colors is 27 combinations, so that's easily enough to cover all the figures in a series.
