Build the ultimate festive pantry
It’s never too early to stock your cupboard with seasonal treats. This year we’ve pulled out all the stops and given our store cupboard ingredients a full-on Christmassy makeover. Look out for our Collection boozy fruits – from Peaches in Cognac to Cherries in Kirsch and Blackberries in Gin. Spoon them over ice cream for a quick-fix pud or use them to top a wintery pavlova. Discover shortcut ingredients for ‘nothing-in-the-cupboard’ meals, like our rich, intense small-batch Collection French Onion Soup. Mulling Spices can be heated with wine to fill your home with the smell of Christmas; Brandy Soaked Mixed Fruit is a must for mince pies (or try steeping vodka in it to make mince pie vodka); and jars of artisan antipasti will make entertaining a breeze.

Up your condiment game
Our chefs have been hard at work tweaking and tinkering our exclusive recipes to make our Christmas condiments even better. Stock up early so you’ve always got them on hand to add instant flavour. Add a spoonful of our tangy Collection Cranberry and Port Sauce to salad dressings and toss in finely shredded sprouts and cabbage then top with pomegranate seeds in a vibrant winter slaw. Stir our small-batch, cognac-spiked Collection Marie Rose Sauce over plump prawns, then pile onto toasted rye bread with smoked salmon for an easy canapé. Spoon our Wholegrain Mustard into a sausage traybake or combine with honey and soy sauce to marinate chicken wings. Spread our tangy Tartare Sauce over mini sub rolls then fill with fish fingers and shredded lettuce, and swirl a little of our Mint Sauce through yogurt to create a vibrant raita-style dip.

Seek out sugar and spice
Packed with ripe fruits, our Collection Brandy and Clementine Mincemeat is laced with cognac, brandy and cider and spiked with clementine zest. It’s a mince pie non-negotiable, but it’s also worth stocking up now to use in recipes throughout the season. Try adding a spoonful to pancake or scone batter for a festive flavour twist, or spread over puff pastry, cut into strips, twist and bake until golden. Elevate the flavour of homemade or shop-bought mince pies by brushing the tops with a little of our Collection Blood Orange Liqueur Marmalade before baking – it will give them a gorgeously golden finish and zesty flavour.

Serve up the best roasties
Want to master perfectly golden, crunchy-on-the-outside, fluffy-in-the-middle roasties this year? You need our Roast Potato Seasoning, which brings a moreish, savoury flavour and the crunchiest texture to roast spuds. Par-boil Maris Piper potatoes then allow to cool completely while you preheat a tray with a spoonful of our Goose Fat. Toss the cooled potatoes in the hot fat then sprinkle with Roast Potato Seasoning before roasting to perfection. Look out for other genius seasoning blends in the Foodhall – our Roots for Roasting Seasoning will elevate carrots and parsnips, while our Chicken Seasoning is ideal for rubbing over roast chicken or turkey.

Keep sweet treats on standby
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a few sweet treats in the cupboard, ready for last-minute guests, family movie nights and picky teas. This year’s range includes on-trend flavours you won’t want to miss – think Hot Honey Caramel Popcorn, Speculoos and Toffee Biscuit Dunkers, Hot Chocolate Bombes and Black Forest Mini Bites. We've got gorgeous gifts to keep on standby, too, like our beautifully illustrated tins. Plus, stock up on Christmas essentials like Christmas pudding and cake – enjoy with a cuppa, and crumble up leftover Christmas pudding to swirl through ice cream.

Get in a pickle
Pickles and chutneys will be useful for much more than your Christmas cheeseboard. They’ll add a welcome burst of acidity to all sorts of dishes. Try spreading our Spiced Apple and Pear Chutney in toasties, to glaze roast ham, or serving with smoked salmon in a Christmas brunch. Skewer cornichons and pickled onions with anchovies or chunks of cheddar for a quick party snack, or finely chop and combine with mayo and tuna in a speedy sandwich filler.
