Melt the butter (70 g) in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the apple wedges (6) and cook for 5-10 minutes until the apples are starting to brown.

Add the sticky toffee sauce (75 ml) and cook for a further 5 minutes, until sticky.

Whip the cream (300 ml) until soft peaks form.

Cut the cake (1) into long slices and place in the bottom of your trifle dish or dishes. Spoon over some of the apples, followed by custard (1 tub) then cream.

Repeat the layers and then top the final layer of cream with more apples and an extra drizzle of toffee sauce.

Chill in the fridge until you’re ready to eat.
