Understanding rose sizes
Classic buds
Our sweetheart roses are grown at lower altitudes in hotter climates, such as East African countries. That means their head are smaller – but no less beautiful!
Premium buds
Grown in Kenya where they enjoy 12 hours of daylight, our medium roses have slightly bigger heads (around 40-50cm) since they take longer to flower.
Luxury buds
Our larger-headed Freedom roses are grown in Colombia at higher altitudes in cooler temperatures, so they grow more slowly, resulting in stunning large heads with fat petals.

Join us as we travel to Amsterdam to meet the passionate people behind our beautiful Avalanche roses, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how they cultivate and nurture these most perfect of blooms. Hand-picked Avalanche roses have been featured in haute couture runway shows and celebrity birthday parties alike. We decided to show off our three varieties – pearl, sweet and classic white – by building a statement wall in our Dutch glasshouse.
