Arlo Triple Wardrobe

I have built furniture from most of the major suppliers from MFI to their Swedish upstarts and this is the most solid and well organised I have come across (even the bags of screws etc are numbered). The instructions say that it should take 2 people to build, in my experience most do, but in this case it is true and those 2 people need to be fit! There is a point, part way through the build, that you are asked to pivot the wardrobe upright, even with 2 people the weight of the unit means that even the slightest variation in coordination means the locking bolts pop out and the unit collapses. My experience allowed me to rebuild it, in an upright postition to start with, and once built this is the most solid wardrobe I've owned. But avoid this if you have limited self build experience, cannot organise a second person or if you are not in peak physical fitness.

Bought this last week, expecting delivery in a week or so. Just been given earliest delivery date of March. No acknowledgement or apology for the ridiculous delay. poor. Very poor, M&S! And to say thank you for my business, I’ve been sent a voucher for a free pack of Percy Pigs. You are so far off the mark from what makes customers want to return.

Having previously had a double wardrobe, single bed and bedside table delivered and assembled I elected to buy more when refurbishing our main bedroom. What a mistake! The entire range is flimsy, weak and manufactured of the poorest grade materials you can imagine. You can't leave a zero star review but that's what the entire Arlo range deserves. Self assembly is a nonsense, some of the larger items are so badly manufactured that absolute precision and maximum strength is required just to position components in such a manner as they don't shear the Camlok fixings from the wood chip panels, this happened twice to me and my son, I'm a former aircraft fitter and he is a trained welder/fabricator so you can assume a level of competence. These units are expensive for what they are, buy anything major from this range and you will soon be spending more on replacements, it's dolls house furniture. My order comprised two triple wardrobes, a king size bed, two bedside tables and two different chests of drawers, all as poor as each other.

Beautiful to look at and good quality of build. Easy to assembly, took around 2.5 hours. Definitely a two-person job though.

We bought this wardrobe after looking at many others, and based on the cost and perceived quality of M&S, we felt this would have been a good buy. The delivery was received, my wife and I started the assembly process. We made sure all the instructions were followed to the letter, however, one part snapped and ripped out the cam locks. We called M&S, only to be advised this would be dealt with as a warranty claim, which took some time. Finally, it was deemed a new wardrobe would be sent, for us to take out the replacement for the damaged part, and re-commence construction. Second wardrobe delivered and we picked up where we left off. Again, all going OK, making sure all cam locks were tightly screwed. When it came to the part of standing the wardrobe on to its legs, this is when it started to collapse, and all the cam locks started to rip out, taking everything out of alignment, and the back panel dropped, hitting the inside shelf, making a hole. As we had been waiting for the wardrobe for such a long time, we decided to use Gorilla Glue/Tape to fix it all together, and we used the cam lock cover stickers to patch the hole in the shelf. Far from ideal, and this put us off getting any other items in this range. Since ordering, there have been other reviews with the same issues as ours, and had they been on here before we had purchased, we would have looked elsewhere. Thank goodness for Gorilla Glue.

The entire wardrobe collapsed when assembling. Be very careful following the instructions as you could get hurt and the furniture and walls are likely to be damaged. Instructions tell you to build on its side, this involved putting together the base, side panels and back. Next step is to stand it up without the top. At this point the entire wardrobe collapsed it was a disaster. Panels and wood falling everywhere and the newly decorating wall damaged. Eventually we put the wardrobe together in an upright position and this was straight forward, personally I feel the instructions need to be reviewed and I have emailed M&S. The wardrobe was damaged but inside not on the outside. We will need to fill and paint the bedroom wall again which is pretty annoying. However, it is a lovely wardrobe and if the instructions had guided me correctly I would have given 5 stars.
