Vases & Plant Pots FAQs
How should I arrange flowers in a vase?
To create an eye-catching floral arrangement, you can start with the foliage, and then add the focal flowers and finally the other blooms. Cut all the stems diagonally, which helps them absorb water. It’s recommended that they measure 1.5 to 2 times the height of the vase. Once you have created the base of foliage and greenery, you can slot the other flowers into your arrangement, spreading them out to create a striking look.
How do I keep flowers fresh in a vase?
You can keep your flowers fresh by topping up the water in the vase regularly. Then every few days, you can refill it with fresh water and trim the stems. It’s a good idea to remove any dead flowers or leaves, too. You can add flower food to the water, which also helps to prolong the blooms. Where you place the flowers can also have an impact – cooler spots are ideal.
How much water should I put in a vase for flowers?
It’s recommended to fill the water in your vase to about three-quarters of its height. Keep an eye on the levels for the first few days and top up the water when needed. It’s probably best to change the water every few days to freshen up your flowers. You can also add flower food to your vase, which is known to have antibacterial qualities and helps keep the water fresh.
