step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 6.
step 2
Heat a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the unsmoked pancetta (75 g) and cook for 5 minutes, then add in the beef mince (1 pack). Cook for 7 minutes, until nicely browned. Stir in the everything vegetable base (1 pack) and a pinch of salt and cook for 7 minutes, until softened.
step 3
Once soft, add the flour (1 tbsp) and stir to coat the beef mince and veggies. Dissolve the beef stock pot (1) in 500ml of boiling water. Stir in the Marmite (1/2 tbsp) and Worcestershire sauce (1 tbsp) into the stock and add everything to the saucepan. Simmer over a medium heat for 10-15 minutes, until thickened, while you prep the topping.
step 4
Meanwhile, bring a large saucepan filled with hot water to a boil. Add the swede (500 g) and potatoes (200 g) to the pan with a pinch of salt and simmer for 10 minutes, until softened, then drain.
step 5
Add the swede and potatoes back to the pan you cooked them in along with the butter (15 g) and milk (50 ml). Mash until smooth and season to taste with salt and pepper.
step 6
Add the mince to a large ovenproof dish and top with the mash. Mix the breadcrumbs (15 g) and cheddar (30 g) together and then sprinkle on top of the mash.
step 7
Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
step 7 Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
