Showing M&S's adventurous side once again, a Txakoli (pronounced CHA-KOH-LEE) from the extreme north of Spain, made from 100% Hondarrabi Zuri. Ozoney and bright, this is all about lift and freshness, not about obvious fruit; it's about seaside freshness and breeziness, apple and sherbet arriving on the palate, and there is very nice balance with a hint of ripeness and still that lovely cut apple verve. Delightful,shimmering stuff.

Lovely fresh and spritzy wine, I bought this as I just came back from San Sebastian where this is considered a local drink- and I have many friends who also go to San Seb so it's a way of keeping the holiday alive! Elegant label and bottle shape, tasted delicious- I just need to practice pouring it from a height without spilling it everywhere...

Very fresh, lightly fizzy, crisp lemony taste. Not too high alcohol level. All round a very pleasant refreshing wine, particularly nice as an appetiser before dinner. First time I've seen it for sale, having had it in my favourite Tapas bar. A different alternative to Prosecco or Cava. A very modest price too, I'll drink it often if available. I think it will catch on!

This wine was a serendipitous find but with its as described spritzy character it is a wonderful summer drink. Have reordered several times. The price point is a shame but with vouchers etc well worth it! Probably even without as a treat mmmm!!

Memories of San Sebastián

While on our summer holiday in San Sebastián, we visited several of the fantastic pintxos bars there where we enjoyed the local wine, Txakoli. I had never even heard of this wine previously but it is light and easy to drink with a fruity flavour. I was therefore delighted to find this wine at Marks and Spencer and we continue to enjoy it while the sun shines
