To make the maple and cinnamon pears, peel the pears (2) and cut into wedges, discarding the core.

Add the butter (1 tbsp) and cinnamon (1 tsp) to a frying pan over a medium heat and cook the pear slices until they begin to turn golden. Stir in the maple syrup (1 tbsp) and cook for a further 5 minutes until the pears are glossy and dark. Set aside.

To make the porridge, add the oats (80 g) to a saucepan with 200ml water and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes until the water has been absorbed. Stir in the milk (150 ml) and chai latter powder (2 tbsp) and cook for a further 5-10 minutes until creamy.

Serve the porridge topped with the sticky maple pears, a drizzle of the maple butter from the pan, and a scattering of pecans (15 g).
