step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C/170°C fan/gas mark 5.
step 2
Add the frozen apples (1 pack), berries (300 g), sugar (5 tbsp), mixed spice (1 tsp) and vanilla extract (1 tsp) to a large pan over a medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the fruit has defrosted, broken down and thickened – around 15 minutes.
step 3
Meanwhile, melt the butter (100 g) in a small saucepan then stir into the crumble mix (1 pack).
step 4
Pour the fruit into a large ovenproof dish (approx. 22cm in diameter). Sprinkle over the crumble mix then bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
step 5
When the crumble is almost ready, warm up the custard (1 tub) to serve alongside.
