Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the sprouts (500 g) for 5 minutes.

Drain the sprouts and run under a cold tap until cold.

Heat the butter (1 knob) in a frying pan and fry the breadcrumbs (50 g) and garlic (1 clove) until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.

Return the pan to the heat and fry the bacon (4 rashers) and onion (1) until the bacon is crisp and the onion softened.

Add the sprouts to the pan and pan fry for 5 minutes until tender and starting to caramelise.

Serve right away, topped with the garlicky, crispy breadcrumbs.
