Lace loop problem
Originally posted on salomon.com
No, I don't recommend this
After only about 10 wears, the exact same lace loop as mentioned by other users tore, making the shoes impossible to use. The shoes still look almost new otherwise, so this clearly seems like a recurring construction issue rather than normal wear.

Stability on unstable ground

These shoes appear to be very well made, and have a lot of exterior protection, for both on road, and trial protection. The shoe has a rigid rubber bottom that grips surfaces in all terrain, but soft enough for your foot to feel as though it is cushioned. I appreciate the ankle support and rigidness of a trail running shoe, which is the shoe I wear on a typical day. After having broken legs and a broken ankle, these shoes provide adequate stability and support, both on the trail and off the trail. Great shoe for rucking, and backpacking the great outdoors.

Nice Shoe but runs a little large

It's a nice shoe, but runs a little large on length, but good on width. Going down a half size would probably be too narrow for me.

Comfortable shoe but weak eyelets are a let down

Bought this shoe for a 2 week trip in Europe and performed brilliantly, super comfortable and good support and stylish looks. Largely urban exploring with some rural rambling, nothing too strenuous. Really like the lacing system which I am familiar with from owning another pair of Salomon shoes which lasted for years. Sadly one of the eyelets on this pair has started to tear caused by the strong material used for the lace rubbing against the weaker cloth used for the eyelet. A real let down.

Plush comfort cruisers with style

These are my favorite pair many Salomons. The body of the show is noticably more padded around the ankle, and the toebox wider, giving them a street style look and making them very comfortable for everyday wear and touring. I was unsure about color scheme but absolutely love it, it really pops but matches jeans and such easily. I'm almost tempted to get another pair as backups!

Bought them spontaneously for 20k hike in Andorra. Considering I wore them for the first time, they were super comfy and grippy for the whole trail .

I was looking for a high performance shoe to wear with and without jeans and I came across this pair. They are extremely comfortable, durable with a great tread, and the color is fabulous.

I’m happy with the speed lacing. Easy off and on, tightens better than laced, hasn’t slipped so far.

Fit well and comfortable

Nice pair of walking shoes and very comfortable. Only thing is, I filtered to Lace ups and these have the stretch (Elasticated Lace). I am getting used to them but prefer proper laces.

Do not buy. Comfortable, but poor eyelets design

This was my 2nd pair, as the 1st one broke exactly the same way. I barely used my 2nd pair, worried they could break. I was stuck on a two week trip with only these shoes (city walk), which broke right away into day 4, then 5 days later the other one broke. Let's be real, if indestructible paracord is used to lace shoes with noodly eyelets, what should you expect? They look good, they are comfortable, but they are faulty by design.

Absolutely love these. Fantastic neutral fit. There is plenty of room and I had to order half a size smaller than my Speedcross

Quality issues!

I bought these shoes for a 9 month backpacking trip around Latin America as I needed a solid pair of shoes that would last me. These were absolutely not it! After just 3 months the inside heal of the shoes completely came away to reveal a sharp bit of plastic making these shoes completely unwearable. I'm going to have to throw them away and pay for a new pair which is annoying considering the high price tag of these shoes. It looks like others have had similar quality issues so avoid these if you plan on wearing them more than a few months... What's more annoying is because I'm now travelling I'm unable to sort a replacement pair from salomons warranty.. Not that I particularly trust in their quality now.

Eyelits do not hold up after light use

Great comfort, look good. but after a few wears around the house and in the yard, the eyelits snapped off after i was quite careful with tightening them. disappointing to say the least, as all other aspects of the shoe are quite good.

Lots of potential and one large flaw

Arch support: Check Customizable Fit: Check Tough grippy outsole: Mostly check. not so great on wet rock, but very little that isn't sticky rubber is. Lace loops that last longer than one hike: Erm... Lots of potential to be a great shoe. I really like the xt-6s for walking my dog in the woods so I decided to give these a shot. Broke em in for 50 miles or so before wearing them on a hike of the pemi loop in New Hampshire. Day 1 had us walking through some streams on trail and on day 2, a couple miles into the morning, both shoes suffered the same failure, and the laces ripped through the lace loops. Ended up getting blisters in both feet on the same spot on on the ball of my feet for the remaining 10 miles which wasn't ideal. When I came home, what surprised me even more is that the xt-6 have little plastic protectors to stop just this from happening, so it felt odd that a hiking shoe wouldn't have them. Seems like an easy fix to make these a great hiking shoe for those that like the salomon fit and want something light and tough.
