Straight leg trousers
I've chosen M & S trousers for many years in 12 short, but more recently have a problem with the sizing. So I tried sizes 12 and 14 in these lovely trousers. The 12 is OK on the hips, if a little baggy, but the waist is simply too tight. But the 14 is huge on the hips, whereas the waist is just about tolerable, though a bit tight. My shape has never been out of proportion in the past, as these sizes would suggest. Sadly, neither is for me. So disappointing.

What size?
I bought the trousers one size larger than needed, they fitted perfectly. I recently bought another pair, in my usual size, they fitted perfectly. I long for the days when the size was the size and I'd know what size to buy.
