Navy Regular Fit Wool Jacket

For some reason many of your men's clothes this year appear to be more fitted than usual, particularly when you require and buy a Regular Fit. This applies to suits, outdoor jackets, and jumpers. This is a view shared by the many generations and shapes of males in our family. Shame as haven't been able to keep any purchases made.

on these jackets. We were unable to find a 40S Jacket which did not have 'bubbling' - separation between the jacket inner and outer - usually mostly under the lapel so as to give Quality Control a chance to miss it.

Bought the three piece suit online for my daughter's wedding. Suit was delivered promptly to my local M&S store, which doesn't stock this suit. Everything looked great on the hanger, the waistcoat and trousers were a great fit when I tried them on, however, the jacket 44" Long, my usual M&S size, was very baggy around the lower chest and waist. Even worse was the ripple effect of material gathering up along each shoulder blade. I jumped in the car and travelled to the nearest store stocking the suit to see what could be done. In store several 44" Long jackets exhibited the ripple effect to the shoulders, but not all. The store staff were superb and with minor alterations required to jacket length of a 42" Long jacket, which fitted well on the shoulders without ripples, chest and waist was found. Unfortunately, when the jacket was worn for less than 1 hour on the morning of my daughter's wedding the material on the upper left sleeve had gathered up and looked unsightly. There was too much material to allow the sleeve to lay flat. I returned the whole suit to my local store and declined the offer for a replacement. This is the first problem I have had with an M&S suit in over 30 years of purchasing their suits. There is at least one other review on this site that references this problem with this suit.

Good quality suit although the jacket is a bit large so I ordered the next size down & the fit of that is perfect. I would recommend this suit. The matching waistcoat is lovely.

The jacket and trousers are great but I chose this suit because I wanted to have a waistcoat so I have some ware for my grandfathers pocket watch. I was informed that if I went online that I would be able to purchase the waist coat as the store did not have any in stock. It has been nearly 2 weeks since I bought the suit and I keep looking to see if there are any XL or XXL waistcoats available with no luck so far. I don't get married till September but would really like the waistcoat to complete the suit, can you give me any feedback if they are going to be available at any time soon.

I ordered a 40" short jacket but the sleeves are 2 inches, YES, A FULL 2 INCHES, too long! I should have returned it but have decided to keep it and have it professionally altered at a cost of over £20. I also purchased 2 double-cuff shirts, 15" neck, regular fit, but again, the sleeves were MUCH too long as well as being too baggy. So you have lost those sales as I returned them. Have purchased shirts elsewhere. I don't think my build is particularly unusual - 5' 6", 40" chest, 34" waist. I have purchased suits from M&S before and, although the sleeves were a little on the long side, they did not need altering. How can you get it SO wrong? The trousers, 34" waist 29" leg, are a reasonable fit.

As usual a good looking suit and decent fit

I was disappointed with the shoulder pads, I had to exchange 3 jackets before I found a jacket with the pads fitted correctly. I would love the opportunity to talk to someone about your quality control.

Although the suit is well made I shall be returning it to my local store as it is a suit that is made in China also it does not have conventional looking buttons on the jacket and is made from a lighter weight material than what I was looking for. Had my local store stocked this item I would have been able to note my above comments without having to send for it on line.
