You've got to love a lego set!
Yes, I recommend this
Lego always pleases, you can rely on the brand for consistency and quality. Bought as a present for my son, very well received and fun to build. Bought to display, rather than to play with, not sure how robust it would be for play.

Awesome gift for a Groot fan

Gift for 8 year old grandson. He is still developing his Lego building skills. This kit is just challenging enough to still be fun. And he now has a new Groot figure.

Good for display

No, I don't recommend this
Similar to other reviews, this build is top-heavy. It is not for play, as parts come off easily. And the number of stickers, wow. That said, it makes a great display and makes me smile whenever I look at it. So, short term pain but long term gain I suppose. Would I recommend it? It depends on whether the purchase is for building it or for display. For display? Yes!

First step back into Lego

For some time I’ve admired from a distance how Lego has progressed since my days as a child playing with Lego, & have now decided to get back into the LEGO world. This was my first purchase as I’m a huge fan of the films, & I have to say I wasn’t disappointed from start to finish. I did at one point use the app to do part of the build, but it’s still early days if I prefer using the booklet to the app, time will tell with my next builds. Anyway, Groot looks awesome finished, and stands quite well too. You can get him to stand just like in the picture, but only if on a solid platform with no vibrations etc. As a first build I couldn’t have chosen better

Good Display Piece

As the title says, it is a really cool set to display. However, once built, I wouldn't suggest moving it around or even touching it very much. The head was very fiddley to build and would fall apart as I built, so I was constantly going back to rebuild the bits that had fallen off. There are also a lot of stickers. Both the cassette and the Infinity saga plate, I feel could have been printed instead. Though overall I do really love this set! <3

Awesome looking set

The set looks great, including the awesome mix tape. Due to my own stupidity, I had some challenge with the head as things kept falling apart while adding new pieces in - until I accidentally noticed my mistake. Bought on sale, perhaps full price would have been a bit much for this.

Overall this set was great to build and looks even better. It's a good size as well. The poses you can make him do make him look even better. I definitely would get one. Heres a fair life milk carton for a size reference.

You can't even move this thing without it falling over. Very top heavy. My kid was very disappointed that he couldn't even move it around without falling down.

This had been one of my favorite set to built. I had so much fun, every time I would get closer to finish I would just look at it and admire it. Super cute! I added a sunflower and used his cute finger to express himself.

This set is great and I am a little mad at myself for not getting it sooner. I built it over the course of a day, off and on, and there were some really impressive techniques and part usage. He is spot on to what Groot looks like and makes me want to get more! Highly recommend!

The only way to build this set is while listening to Awesome Mix Vol. 2. This Groot is a hoot. It’s a bit finicky to get some of the head panels on, and due to repetition with the arms and the legs of you aren’t paying enough attention it can be easy to miss something, but the finished product looks great. He’s fun to pose, but works better as a shelf piece than a play piece due to balance issues. I love this set despite my criticisms and Groot is a welcome addition to my Marvel collection.

Was fun to build, didn't take too long. The kids love playing with it and he's still standing strong. Did have to explain to the kids what a cassette tape was!
