This was a journey

Firstly the build is good, but lets get to the interesting of this review, So Canonically Ellie Sattler from the Jurassic park movies was adult when she worked at the park with Ian Malcom. But because the minifig is a chibi format, it kinda makes Ellie sattler look like a pre-teen and that made me uncomfortable. However I embraced the power of leaving you comfort zone behind. There is no growth in your comfort buy this set, and feel the discomfort of seeing an adult character presented in a format in which they would indistinguishable if they pre-teens. It is truly a journey, because when you think about it: its just a toy, its not Ellie Sattler, Ellie sattler is not real, Ellie Sattler is character in a movie. How powerful is the power of film.

Sick triceratops!

Jurassic Park was my favorite childhood movie, so I was ecstatic when a whole line of LEGO sets dedicated to the movie was announced. This is very humorous set, one big pile of poop included and all. The triceratops looks fantastic, but the vehicle build is a bit clunky/crude. Overall a good set though and a fun build! LEGO, please consider a line of The Lost World: Jurassic Park sets for its 30th anniversary in 2027! We have never had any sets based on that movie, so I’m sure a line for its anniversary in a few years would be an absolute hit!

Cool set but wrong color

I adore the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park sets! The car is a great build and the Dino droppings make for a good laugh. Bummed that they chose the same color as the droppings for the Triceratops mold. Would have been even better if they were to make a more accurate representation of this dino, say Dark Bluish Gray on top, Tan or Light Bluish gray on bottom.

Fun to build but overpriced

This Jurassic park set is good and I like you get to build the iconic Jurassic park car. But I do thinks it’s overpriced compared to previous Jurassic world sets.

Triceratops

Overall a good set, I liked the build a lot. I wish the triceratops was actually a build out of Lego and not just a molded piece. But besides that a good set. Goes well with the rest of the my jurassic park builds :)

This set in itself is a great idea, however there is no justification for the price tag.. Way too expensive, horrible value

My son loved getting this set. Easy enough build with adult assistance. He is really enjoying playing with the jeep and triceratops.

Purchase for the Explorer!

I bought this to supplement the other JP builds, and to get a full build of the No. #4 Ford Explorer (previously only as the flipped version in the Breakout Set). I love the vehicle, but miss the windshield wipers (nit-picky, I know). The "one big pile of ****" was cute, but really didn't add much to the build. Overall, basic!

I love Lego! I love Jurassic Park! When I heard and saw that this set was going to be real and released, I was beyond excited! This scene is so memorable to me. It opened up my dreams and imaginations. I love the Triceratops! It is probably my second favorite dinosaur. This figure and mold is stunning to me. The Jeep, Ian Malcolm and Ellie Sattler are all amazing! This was a must have. No question and not a doubt in my mind. The build was fun. Quick shipping and safe packaging. Highly recommended and very satisfied. Thank you so much. Wishing you blessings, happiness, health and safety.

This set is really cool. The main reason i got this set was for the minifigs and the triceratops which is a new color. A little steep in price for the size of the build.

Not so sick Triceratops

Finally get my hands on a Lego Triceratops and it looks great. Definitely not too sick looking. Was happy with this kit overall but the over saturation of the Ellie minifig is a bummer. I guess it's unavoidable in this kit and there is some variations to the clothes for each. If you don't have a Malcolm then it's a must. I like how Lego were clever enough to number the Explorer 04 so it can be paired with T-Rex Breakout (76956) but there is a couple of physical differences to that vehicle which kinda make the whole thing a bit of a head scratcher. Despite these negatives this is one big pile of bricks you don't want to miss.

A ton of fun and still not done!

So far we are getting a lot of enjoyment out of this set - and we aren't even done with the build! My son wanted to build one of the Jurassic sets last night for his evening activity and this was the one chosen. He got the triceratops and Ellie built first (which kept our youngest busy), then he moved on to the vehicle. He only got the first bag completed (an hour goes by fast!), but was very into it. (His direct quote after getting the fenders on was: "This is good building!") This afternoon, he finished the Explorer and is now driving it around next to my 60's Batmobile version (built from the T-Rex Breakout instructions). Looks like it's going to keep us entertained for quite some time! (And he still needs to build bag 3!) A note on the construction: This seemed like a better version for play than the T-Rex Breakout build. The bumpers on this one seem to be sturdier and the roof seemed easier to build. However, the extension of the grill guard was a challenge for him (I ended up helping finish it), but overall he was able to manage almost everything else on his own. (He is only three though!) I've read a few reviews about the differences in the Explorer build in this one compared to the one in the T-Rex Breakout set, but perhaps the main reasoning for the changes here were to accommodate younger builders. (Though, I guess that doesn't cover the interior color change...) Lastly, I have to be honest: the price almost kept us from purchasing this set. We typically go for sets with a higher ratio in terms of pieces-per-dollar - and this one was well below that mark. Perhaps the licensing was a big reason for the higher price of this set, but it was still a drawback. That said, as Jurassic Park was quite an influence during my childhood, we saw this as a fun way to share some of our favorite things. (Unfortunately, he informed me as he finished the Explorer: "I made [me] a Dad's Favorite!" Guess I'm stuck with the Batmobile version!) *I'm also loving all the frogs in each of these 30th Anniversary builds! Nice little reference to the DNA modifications!

A nice set with some disappointing limitations

I am excited that Lego released this set recreating the scene from the movie, and were daring enough to include the pile of dino droppings. It is a relatively simple and fun build. I do appreciate that Lego numbered this version of the explorer to correspond with the damaged explorer from the T. rex Breakout 75956 set, so you can have 2 undamaged versions of the explorer for display/play; however, the build does differ from the other variant of the explorer which is fine in terms of avoiding a repetitive build experience across sets, but I think it is just too different to have them placed side by side if recreating scenes from the movie. My biggest disappointment is the size of the Ford explorer build, especially when compared to the Jeep builds in Dilophosaurus Ambush 76958 and Brachiosaurus Discovery 76960. Both of the Jeep builds are 8 studs wide and then you have a Ford Explorer which is the bigger vehicle but it is only 6 studs wide. Speed champions sets are all now 8 studs wide. I think this set would have been perfect if the Explorer was done in an 8 stud wide version.

We’re super happy you enjoyed building the Triceratops Research set! Sounds like we’ve missed out on making it as awesome as the other Jurassic World™ sets. Feedback from amazing builders like you helps us make our sets better and will be shared with the right teams here.
Ok but missed the mark

This set is okay but missed a few marks. My biggest disappointment is that they changed the Explorer design from the T. rex Breakout set (76956) in a few very noticeable ways, like the missing windshield wipers, changed front bumper, and different interior colour. I also wish the triceratops was built from Lego bricks instead of 6 large molded pieces.

Great set but wrong vehicle number
Originally posted on LEGO

Fantastic set with one small quibble to detail. The vehicle is identical to the one in T. rex Breakout 76956 but, the number in this set is wrong. This set has vehicle #4 but in the movie, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm are in vehicle #5 when Ellie jumps out to see the Triceratops. This set should have used the vehicle #5 sticker, not the #4 sticker.
