About this bottle: A mouth-watering unoaked red from the picturesque rolling hills of Beaujolais' Pierre Dorée in southern Burgundy. Vigneron Vincent Charleux selected Gamay grapes from 45 year old vines to make this fruity red.

Les Closiers Lirac

M&S Classics Valpolicella Ripasso

Crafted in Italy's revered Valpantena region, our Classics Valpolicella Ripasso is a testament to the region's rich wine heritage. This oak-aged red boasts rich flavours of dark cherry, ripe plum, and warming spice. Made in the 'ripasso' style, it achieves extra layers of depth and body. Pairs well with rich ragu or succulent steak.

About this bottle: Cantina Valpantena, founded in 1958, is judged to be one of the best cooperatives in Italy. Based in the valley of the same name near Verona, it makes this classic, bespoke Valpolicella Ripasso for M&S. Using mainly local varieties, Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone the wine is made in part with the dried grape skins used to make Amarone. This “repassing” gives it extra layers of depth and flavour. Best enjoyed within 3 years of purchase.

M&S Found Mazuelo

About this bottle: The Mazuelo variety has been grown in La Rioja for several hundred years but today makes up just 3% of the vineyard area, a rare gem. It is also known as Carigñena in other regions in Spain, and Carignan Noir in the rest of the world, given its French origin. Rioja's Mazuelo produces wines with great structure, freshness and deep colour, creating wines that can age for a long time. With uplifting flavours of black and red fruits and a touch of spice, this red is a delight with Manchego cheese, 'Escalivada' smoky grilled vegetables or the typical local dish of spiced pork roast with potatoes.
