Easy Care Pure Linen Shirt with Pocket

Just purchased the XL mint green shirt in the Gloucester Quays outlet for a bargain price and am genuinely bowled over by the quality and fit. Being 6 foot 6 with arms to match I usually struggle to get anything to fit well. This shirt fits me great. I can probably understand some other reviews saying too big, but this time their loss is my gain. Get some more in stock and I'd happily buy one of each.

I thought finally M&S had recognised that there are taller people out there. Unfortunately not. These shirts are still too short in the body and to be honest don't appear to be any longer than the normal regular fit. I am 6'4" and I would barely have been able to tuck these into waistband if I had so wished. Returned for refund. Thankfully there is a retailer out there who continues to offer a genuinely longer length option across their shirt range as standard and who will continue to attract my custom. Missed opportunity by M&S.

I've liked these 2 inch longer linen shirts since the range started. My original purchases have lasted well but it's time to get some new ones. Sadly M&S have produced too few to meet demand in my size. For instance, the navy blue range in my size must have sold out in minutes before I could order one. And there's no short sleeve version this year so far. Very disappointing for longtime customers like me.

I thought when I bought this it was a bit on the big side but I don't mind a loose fit in the summer, and anyway it's a casual shirt. The sizing is a tad casual too, I'm afraid. It's a medium, which should be 38 to 40 inch chest. I finally got round to measuring it today (after wearing it a lot) and find the chest measures 48 inches! The neck is at least a size 16 when it should be 15. I'm annoyed with myself now that I was so casual about it. Must be the summer weather. Might go for a small if there are any left next month when my pension comes in.

I viewed this item on line and it looked great. Just what I'd been looking for - a stylish long sleeve linen shirt. The ordering and collection process worked perfectly. I'm a standard medium size in pretty much everything and when I tried the shirt on at home it was just like a sack; the sleeves were too long, it hung well below the waist and was very baggy under the arms. The quality of the material was disappointing too. I was genuinely excited - I do frequently look and always try to buy from Marks - and ended up disappointed. Needless to say I've now returned the shirt - the process was again easy. Just a shame the quality of product did not match the actual buying process. Maybe I'm in the minority but I so believe Marks for men - particularly fashion conscious older men - could be and do so much better.

I love linen, and nearly all my linen items (shirts, jackets and trousers) are purchased at M&S. Love the quality, love the colour, love the price
